  1. Women are strong, indeed. I’m 71 and have gone back to work, am renovating a neglected house, have taken on several responsibilities at my church to name a few. I keep moving forward. I haven’t forgotten the past but it does not define me. I don’t focus on what I am no longer able to do like so many others, but rather what can I learn to do. God has given me so much. Life isn’t perfect but that’s ok. I find that focusing on service to others gives me the strength to carry on as I am less focused on my weaknesses. So, yes. Women are strong. AMEN!

    • You are strong, indeed, Madeline! Pausing right now to celebrate the good work that He is doing in (and through!) you. ~ Jennifer Dukes Lee

    • AMEN! Keep having that POSITIVE attitude, Madeline! Right there with ya. Exactly what I would say about us too. My husband just turned 70 and I’m soon right behind him. We both keep very busy as well, staying the FAITH as we focus on Him while helping so many others. No matter who you are, where you live, or what your circumstances are in this very moment….you CAN “make a difference” in someone’s life…even with one simple, ENCOURAGING word or SMILE….Continue to SHINE Bright! (Matthew 5:16)

  2. Dear Jennifer……Your devotion today was so helpful and reminded me of some ways I felt which turned out to be the wrong way while I am in this difficult struggle. I must admit that I often felt so weary and that I just couldn’t do any more. I kept praying and I realized, “Stop feeling like you can’t do these things, because God will give me the strength that I need”, and he certainly came through when I prayed for this. As the women that thought she could only walk the marathon, I found if I just tried what I thought I couldn’t do, I found that I could. So I have continued on moving one step ahead when something I thought before was impossible now I know God has given me what I need. Of course, at my age, 78, there are days when I have to just sit down and be calm as I have a physical problem that precludes me from doing certain things. This is not a strength problem, but something I know if I try this now I would probably hurt it more and I do not want to do that. So as Jesus and my Holy Spirit tells me, “You need to take a day to just sit.” This does help me to be strong again the next day. So if we listen to God, we will realize, ” Women are Strong” and I will remember to tell myself this every day. Thank you Jennifer for your wise and kind words today. All of the (in)courage women and their daily devotions always help me in some way and for that I ask God to bless all of you. I send my love and prayers to everyone who reads your wise words today as it truly helps. May you have a blessed week……………..Betsy Basile

    • This is so wise, Betsy! Sometimes the strongest and wisest and most courageous thing we can do is to know our limits. That requires an inner strength that we receive through the power of the Holy Spirit. I’m so grateful that you shared!

  3. THANKS Jennifer, What a DELIGHT of Encouragement! Women are STRONG, Strength comes from TRUSTING God, Waiting on Him, and Walking in Obedience. We all need to hear this, greatly appreciate you sharing with us. Remember, your attitude in every situation is yours to command. No one can force you to have a bad attitude or a good one; it is entirely up to you. Maintain an attitude of FAITH, THANKSGIVING, and Positive Expectations, and you will definitely come out of each situation VICTORIOUSLY in His perfect timing. Whatever you are going through in life, maintain a Positive Attitude and TRUST God to be with you. He will reward you on the other side. Let’s be a RAY of Sun-SHINE…Warm & Cheerful, as we TRUST Him!
