“They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 1:10 NIV
God calls Jeremiah to be a prophet during a time of upheaval in Israelite history. God says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” But Jeremiah is unsure of himself saying, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.”
Isn’t this how so many of us feel right now as we lead our homes, our churches, and our communities? As we try to facilitate important conversations at our tables and online or make decisions that impact others far and wide? As we try to navigate counseling our children in a complex world, caring for aging parents, or asking God what our purpose is for such a time as this? We are weary of politics and sickness, natural disasters, and human divisions. The news cycle is so disheartening that it can easily lead to heartbreak and hopelessness.
But what does God say? God says to us, “Do not be afraid; I am with you.”
So when what’s before you seems over your head, hold on to this promise: God is with me when I am afraid.

I am afraid.
Afraid of expressing myself, afraid to be me, afraid because l feel so inadequate, so unequipped.
I am afraid, because l am suddenly alone, alone with no sight of friendship or companionship that is genuine.
I am afraid because the world is full of so much noise , noise of unending wars and inexplicable horrors, noise of new technologies everyday and less care for our fragile world, noise of the fast life and the rewards that come with it, yet loss of human connection and ties.
I am afraid as l stand on the precise looking back at what my life looked like, what l had hoped it would be and what is has actually turned out to be.
I am afraid, afraid that this precipice l stand on is barely there, only holding me up by a tiny breathe ..
Yet somehow in all that fear, I find l know one thing, You are there to bear me up on eagle’s wings when l fall and You are here with me now even in the noise.
King Jesus, help me to see You shinning ever so brightly through the thick dark clouds of fear that are choking me.
I know You are there. Oh, Sweet Spirit of God, help me feel my way to You now, because with my eyes, l can no longer see. Save me , draw me out. I believe You can, because You love me too much to ever let me go.
Amen.

Our family is so broken. I’m afraid down the road it’s gonna get much worse. My son and his wife are now contemplating divorce, they have four children, none our believers. Please pray for our broken family. Sometimes I feel it’s even too big for the Lord to fix. My trust and faith has wavered many times I need to see some. Hope we need a miracle.

Hello, I face similar issues in my family. Recently, was able to realize turning the tide was largely due to my responses and change and begin to affirm who God is by my words. God does not need me to accomplish His purposes. He is able by the blood Jesus shed on the cross. I hope this will be a help for you. Be fervent in prayer. Pray for each other.

Praying for your family. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, and we know he wants to destroy our families. But God is still on the throne and nothing is too hard for Him. No heart is too hard and no problem is too big. I am praying for your sweet momma’s heart and standing with you asking and believing the Holy Spirit will draw them all to Him, convicting them of sin, and working forgiveness in their hearts. If God can part the Red Sea, shut the mouths of lions, walk in the fire with the 3 Hebrew boys, heal the sick, make the lame to walk, give sight to the blind, and all the other miracles we read about, then He can work in this. He is the Great I Am and never changes. He saves our souls and He can save your family. I will continue to pray for you, your son, daughter in law, and grandchildren.

In Courage,
I fell into a deep depression Fall of 2022. It took till spring of 2023 to bring me out of it. Yet through it all God was with me. He was holding my hands & guiding my steps. Our world is in a mess right now, but take heart God is in control. He is with us through our darkest valleys & our brightest days. He never leaves us!
Blessings 🙂
