  1. Oh Becky, thank you for this. Prayer is so needed each and every day in the lives of teachers, students, support staff and everyone who walks through the doors of a school. After 35 years of teaching I retired last spring. As the new year begins I miss some of the preparation, but your article made me realize that my new assignment is to spend more time in prayer for our schools. Teachers start the year with great attitudes and ambitions and plans, but it doesn’t take too long for reality to drag them down. So please continue to pray for our teachers and schools throughout the year, and ask God to flow through them to minister to all.

    • Judy, thank you for your years of serving students! My mom was a high school math teacher, so I know exactly what you mean. I’m praying with you!

  2. Yes, I loved school and my teachers and I am thankful that I grew up with wonderful, caring, and respected teachers. Schools and teachers have changed so much and they so need all our prayers now. There are those who are trying so hard to take children down the horrible path of sin and darkness. Please God, place good and God fearing teachers in front of all the school children and let those teachers make an impact in only good ways, that are Your ways. Have mercy on all the children, our Lord and Savior.

  3. Thank you, Becky. I have taught public high school and homeschooled my own kids. And even though I’m done with all that, God still has me in Children’s Ministries. I also try to encourage teachers still in the system. So, this prayer is touching… What a noble badge teachers wear! It is just so sad that many don’t even realize that.

  4. Becky,

Growing up I had two busted eardrums & couldn’t hear good. Plus I had to take speech classes-done by a speech pathologist. Mr. Rankin my bookkeeping teacher allowed me to skip class to attend the other class. I loved his class & excelled greatly.

Over the years I have worked with & been around teachers. They have a hard job now a days. All school employees could use our prayers. Lord Jesus another school year is about to begin. Please instill peace & calm in teachers, administrators & other employees. Give them a discerning heart to help each student achieve their best potential. In Jesus Name AMEN!

    Blessings 🙂
