In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.
Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day” and the darkness “night.”
And evening passed and morning came, marking the first day.
Genesis 1:1-5 (NLT)
Perhaps “formless and empty” describe the season you’re in or the year you’ve had. It seems as though nothing good or generative is happening and that you’re stuck in a holding pattern. Or perhaps you can’t see past the darkness that lays heavy on you, one that you haven’t been able to shake for a while.
Then the story of creation may be what you need to hear today. When the Spirit of God hovered over the surface of the waters (water often symbolizing chaos and death in the Bible), movement happened, light came to be, and the first day began.

Hope.
Our Creator God is the same today as He was then. May His Spirit hover over you, creating beauty, breathing new life, and instilling hope into your soul.

It is comforting to know that when we feel that we are in a dark void , that God is hovering over our darkness as He did before creation .. and will bring light and hope to our situation if we wait for His work in our life and do not give up hope while in a dark season. Our creator God is still here, still working to bring light and hope to hopeless situations.

I have suffered seasons of depression and anxiety off and on for 10 years. I am in one of those seasons again after a long season of freedom from it. But it has come back again and has lasted longer than ever before. I cling to Jesus my Savior and Lord and to His promises for Him to deliver and heal me again, not just for my sake, but for my husband’s sake, our family’s sake, but most of all for His Holy Name’s sake. Please lift me in prayer! God bless each and every one of you in Jesus Holy Name!

In Courage,
We can take hope in that God is always with us. He rejoices over us with singing Zephaniah 3:17. His spirit is in & around us even in the midst of trials. Praying that everyone can feel God creating beauty in them from ashes, breathing new life & giving them hope in the midst of their trials.
Blessings 🙂
