  1. Yes we worship in different ways. We can’t let lies in our worship though. Must be careful not to have yeast in our dough leading us astray. But not all worship is the same and spiritual abuse can take us away from God so the wrong church can inflict more harm.

  2. Hi, Becky! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and feelings in this post. It has really spoken to me. This sentence of yours was so good: ‘My faith can only go as deep as I am willing to let my theology spread wide.’ I’m nowhere near as young as you, but on a journey still, and despite being a Christian all of my life, there is so much I can learn about God and my relationship with Him, in all the seasons I go through. I am starting to realise that this is a time for me to learn to rest in Jesus and His love, and to just take one step at a time, not feeling frustrated when I don’t even take ONE step, because He has something for me to learn where I am right now. Thank you again, for your honest and helpful post. God bless you and your family. Barbara XX

  3. I loved this an am so happy you found what suited you and your comfortable place. I think we all go through seasons of change in our worship and prayer. As long as your walking along side Jesus then it’s fine to find your comfortable happy place that fits you. My place of worship is not always in a church, many times it’s in a garden or at the ocean. Gods creations.

  4. Such powerful words. I appreciate your sharing your story and the difficulties you face. I truly empathize more than you can imagine.

  5. This is so beautifully said. I believe the Lord is leading many of us to this place if we will surrender. ❤️ So relatable.

  6. Becky,

People worship in varying ways. Some like old hymns & long sermons. While others like a more contemporary service. It doesn’t matter how or where you worship God-just as long as you give Him the devotion He deserves. People tend to get stuck in denominational theology. Their denomination is their theology. We need to learn to embrace all types of worship & theology-so long as it is biblical.

Now I’m at a point where I need a bit more from church than singing songs & hearing a sermon. Later this year our pastor of over 30+ years is retiring. My church is super small & has mainly older (65+) aged people. Don’t get me wrong I have loved this church & the people for 18 years. It is time to move on & find a different church. Perhaps one that is closer to home.

    Blessings
