Many people think I grew up in a Christian home, but I didn’t. I grew up in a moral home, a home that stressed the importance of living by the golden rule but not a home that talked about Jesus. It wasn’t until my parents hit a hard place in their marriage that the four of us kids found ourselves in church. I was twelve when I accepted Jesus and was baptized.
My teenage years were busy, and going to church wasn’t a priority. I remember thinking that since He lived inside my heart, I could talk to God anytime, so I really didn’t need to go to church.
Instead of a relationship with Jesus, my faith became more like a help line.
Even so, I was still a responsible, good kid, and I liked pleasing my parents. I wasn’t the typical child star — no addictions or alcohol abuse or trouble with the law. When I looked around to see what other people my age were doing, my life seemed tame in comparison.
Whenever I felt a twinge of conviction for something I’d done, I would focus on the good things I was doing, things I thought could balance the scales in my favor. I remember thinking, Is this really how God works? Can I really just do whatever I want and then ask for forgiveness?
But I finally learned that God’s standard of goodness is different from the world’s standard, and for the first time I saw myself as a sinner. I really understood that I broke the law, that Jesus paid my fine, and that there was no love greater than that. He rescued me, He saved me, He delivered me, and knowing those truths led me to real repentance and change. Out of gratitude for what Jesus did for me, I started to live a life of service to Him, and my deepest desire is to hear Him say, Well done, good and faithful servant.
This heart change was the catalyst that led me to dive into the Bible like I never had before. The Bible is literally the Word of God, full of truth that is relevant for today and every day. Reading God’s Word on a regular basis has made a huge difference in my life. I have learned more about who God is, who I am, and what my purpose is. If you’re not a regular Bible reader, I know it can all sound intimidating and overwhelming, especially at first. But I encourage you to do what I do — just start with one sentence, one paragraph, or one page. Focus on consistency, not quantity.

So great to have you supporting the (in)courage devotional bible! I love my copy and have been having fun illustrating my faith and making comments on the scriptures I read in vivid color. I guess I’m getting back in touch with my inner God-child 🙂 My “life verse” is Psalms 40:1-3: I waited patiently for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
3 He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord
and put their trust in him.
This mercifully describes what God has done in my life. He’s lifted me out of the mud and mire and given me a firm place to stand. Like you, I found it was convenient to rely on my “goodness” instead of getting real and admitting that I am a sinner in need of grace. Christianity is the only religion that is built on grace and relationship vs. earning and pleasing. Great to see you here this am.!

The Bible verse that has been speaking to me for about 6yrs now is in Romans.
Romans 5:8- “I loved you at your darkest”
I moved to Lynchburg a little over 6yrs ago to work at the university and lots was going at the time. I have struggled with depression and such most of my life until life started to get really difficult and I didn’t see any way out. I tried to say good bye to my life but a friend stopped me not realizing and apparently god has a bigger plan! I praise Him for that!
I hope that I get a chance to meet you someday as o have been so encouraged by your faith in the Lord and how you are on and off the stage! I have wanted to meet you my whole life and got very excited when you recently this year came to speak at LU!
My favorite verse is Matthew 7:24 because it tells us to build our lives on the rock, Jesus! He’ said the only one that will stand firm under us. That’s verse tells me that in have to get rid of everything that ive been focusing on and build on God!

It is so hard to pick a favorite verse but I think Romans 8:31 if God be for us who can be against us seems to be my go to when I feel discouraged. Romans 8 is rich in wisdom as is the entire Bible. Thanks for sharing your story and God bless you.

My absolute favorite verse is the 23rd Psalm. “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” I memorized it in Sunday School when I was a little girl which was years ago, as I am now 66 years old. I feel comforted by the words when I am sad or discouraged or depressed. I have more favorite passages but the Psalm 23 will always be my most favorite. You are an inspiration Candace! My favorite verse is Trust in the Lord with your whole heart and lean not on your own understanding. proverbs 3 verse 5&6. The reason is that I have learned that my understanding of the reason things happen or do not happen are so limited. However, God’s understanding of why something happens is all knowing. He is a loving and giving God snd Father who takes care of us. Therefore I must put all my trust in him. Because when something happens in my daily life I go to him, who I can not see but my FAITH tells me he is there, no matter what, no matter who. We can not see the wind but we see the effects of it. As in us people see the effects of our FAITH.
Psalm 37:4 is one of my favorite Bible verses. It reminds me that God knows my heart even better than I do. If I put him first and “delight myself” in Him, He will take care of the rest.

John3.16 “For God so Loved the world…” Because it’s the first verse I learned at 6 yrs old when I got saved. Makes me realized that it doesn’t matter who you are and what you’ve done GOD LOVES me and you . He LOVES THE HUMAN RACE and only thru JESUS WE ARE SAVED.
My favorite bible verse is John 3:16. This is my favorite verse because it is the one true way to know you will spend eternity in heaven.

I can’t come up with a favorite bc there are many.
However Philippians 4:6 is a verse I go to almost daily, sometimes hourly. This verse alone has helped calm me in some of life’s hardest situations. Most importantly when my daughter was born at 30 weeks and spent over a month in the NICU. We had this verse on an index card inside her incubator bed!

I was raised in a Catholic home and never truly knew my Lord, until I was an adult. There have been many obstacles in my way, that many times I would question everything. I realized that those circumstances, have led me closer with my relationship with Christ. And, what I go through on any day is not a sprint but a marathon to know my Savior. Especially within the past month it has been difficult but I know that everything is in His hands.
It’s so hard to pick a favorite verse. But if I had to pick one that resonates with me the most I would have to pick Jeremiah 29:11-

This has been my favorite bible verse for a long time. I love this bible verse because it reminds me that only the Lord knows whats in store for us and we just have to trust in him. I try to live my life and remember to always be humble and kind. Also I live with anxiety and this sticks with me. Always walk with God, be Humble, and cast your anxieties to him. He will see us through any storm.

He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”, was in a devotion I did sometime in April when I felt as though my “world” as I knew it was crumbling around me. I did not pass my semester exit exam for nursing school which is making me graduate 6 months later than I anticipated. I also had familial issues going on with both of my parents’ health. However, this verse brought me so much peace in not only God’s promise to be there for His children, but for the plans He has in store for me. I feel that this verse is just a reminder of the fact that God’s always with us even when we feel that we are walking through a trial alone—-He always has something planned that is greater than we can comprehend. It was this verse that gave me the encouragement to finish the path in nursing God had called me to. This verse has also given me the opportunity to share God’s goodness with others who are going through seasons of struggle.

My grandpa and grandma pastored a church for many years, not to long ago my grandpa past away from a massive heart attack, and it really devastated our family and church. My grandma stepped up and took his place and now she teaches the word of God in the very same church they built with their love. My favorite bible verse would have to be Proverbs 31:28 “Her children rise up and call her blessed” I am so very blessed that I have a grandma that teaches me the word of God not only on Sundays but everyday.
My favorite verse and our family verse is Joshua 1:9 Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. As my kids leave the nest this is super important for them to remember.

I love this verse because it’s a daily reminder that every morning is a new day to become a better version of yourself. It is also a reminder of one of the most important things I need to work on, to trust the lord at all times and stop worrying.
My favorite verse is Deuteronomy 20:4, “For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.” I love this verse because it constantly reminds me that God has my back and is always there with me.

1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 Love is the most important blessings from God. We need to spread our love for all everywhere as Jesus has shown us.

One of my favorite verses is Isaiah 40:31. I need to be reminded to wait upon the Lord to renew my strength and trust him to carry me when I am weary.
Psalms 19:14 – Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, my Lord, my strength and my redeemer.
This speaks volumes to me and encourages me. I recite this every night at the close of my prayers. The Lord is my redeemer, salvation, my help, my constant faithful friend. He laid down His life that I may live. He gives me strength for each day.

God is faithful and I know that incomparable joy is waiting in his heavenly kingdom for those who believe and call on the name above all names JESUS!!

My sister-in-law gave me that verse when I had my first (of 2) miscarriages. I have clung to that verse acknowledging that God creates paths in unpredictable ways, in ways I often don’t understand, but he’s making paths even when I don’t see the path. He’s leading me to a place and life better than the one I can plan for myself. When I remember that he can make a path when it seems impossible for there to be one, it gives me hope and restores my faith.
My favorite verse is Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” I love this verse because it reminds me that God is the one that fills me with joy and peace. As a first-year teacher, I have already gone through my fair share of rough days. But when I’m down, I can always rely on Him to lift me back up and provide me with the hope and peace I need to push through.
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
This is my go to verse because it reminds me that my strength lies in the Lord and no matter how hard my life may seem at times, I can and will make it because of HIM.

I don’t know how to choose just one verse. I feel like certain verses are my favourite at different seasons in my life. All summer a verse that kept sticking out to me was Isaiah 40:8NKJV and that says, “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.” So I guess that’s probably one of my favourites at the moment.
Side note: this week I was reading John 6:22-59 for the youth group my sister, my friend and I run and while I was reading it God showed me so many new things. So at the moment that is one of my favourite chapters.
My favorite verse is 2 Timothy 1:7, ” I did not give you a spirit of fear but of power, love and of sound mind”. After 15 years of stuggling with anxiety and fear, I came across this verse and for about a year, prayed it daily and thànked God for his faithfulness along with my prayer. Then I began to realize my anxieties were less and less and woke up one morning and God had delivered me of the anxiety. Now if Satan tries to creep back in, I just remind him of God’s faithfulness and 2 Timothy 1:7
Joshua 1:9 is my life verse.
Be strong and courageous , do not be frightened or dismayed , For the Lord , your God is with you wherever you go.
My favorite verse is James 1:2-4 “Consider it pure joy my brothers and sisters whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” Anytime I feel like I can’t take anymore or things just aren’t going my way (which has been quite often this past year) I look to this verse and my patience grows for this time is just a season and will not last forever. My Father is moving and changing and preparing the path before me and whenever all the pieces have moved and I look back on this time, it will all be made clear why I had to walk this way. ❤️

It’s my favorite thing knowing that God is always with me. I’ve struggled with life lately and haven’t been as close to him as I should. I would love to be able to use this Bible to help rekindle my relationship with God. Thank you, Cameron and (in) courage for this wonderful opportunity!

This verse shows me that after we go through something in life God will use us to minister to others when they go through something similar, to weep with others, have compassion for what they are going through and offer them hope through Jesus. When my son passes away this verse was such a good reminder that his story didn’t end there God had more plans for us through my son to help others in their time of grief.

I love this so much because the past two years have been some of the most difficult for me. I had to walk through trying circumstances with blind faith. Nonetheless, I still trusted God and believed He would work all things for my good. This verse helped remind me to trust God even in the bad times. He is my salvation and my strength and song. When I am weak, I find strength in Him. This verse is a powerful reminder of that.

I tend to suffer from anxiety, as many of us do! Anytime I am feeling powerless over my own fears I will repeat this verse out loud and will always feel a lift in my spirit and courage.
I LOVE Ecc. 3:11, that says “He (God) has made all things beautiful…” Not just some things, ALL things. I’m encouraged that, with God, even the hard and painful things are made beautiful.

I love this verse because as a teen I think every other teenage needs to hear this because we need to lead astray from our desires, idols, and sinful lifestyle we had and walk back to the one who holds us. The one who calls us His child. The one who hold us in His hands and love us unconditionally no matter what sins we have done. He is the ONE TRUE GOD and the One we need the praise. Another thing I love about this verse is God is telling us we need to pursue these things. We need to pursue Righteousness, honest and good. We need to pursue Faith, faith in the One True God that died for our sins and the One who saved me. We need to pursue Love, love toward people now matter if they are mean to you, you have to pray for that person, Love toward God because he first loved us!!! We need to pursue Peace, calmness and silence, I think this is always good because with prayer it is always quiet time, no distractions just you and God having a deep conversation. Whenever we are ready pray, 1. Clear our minds, 2. Pray that God would forgive you or the sins you have committed and the life you have been living, 3. Tell him you wanna be apart of His kingdom, 4. Acts 2:38 I really wanted to make sure I was in baptized to make sure I was really forgiven because I tried to do something to myself 3 times, I really don’t want to how. He have changed my life around but I still feel unworthy of him. Especially now that I feel like I’m losing my whole life.

At the moment my favorite is Romans 8:1-2: “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you[a] free from the law of sin and death.” It is a reminder that I have been freed from my sin through Jesus who paid the ultimate price on the cross for it. He gave the Holy Spirit to me so that I can live freed by promise of eternal life that Jesus’s sacrifice has provided for me.
One of my favourite verses at the moment is
John 1:4-5 In him was life, Andy that light was the light of men.5 That light shines in the darkness , and yet the darkness did not overcome it.
I love this reminder especially aa I am going through a hard and upsetting season that was totally unexpected that no matter what happens during this season that Jesus is my light and I have life in him for eternity and the darkness in this season will always have Jesus shining on me and guidance through this season.

One of my favorite verses is Joshua 1:9. There are many times when life can just really get me down and I feel like giving up. But then I think of this verse: “Have I not commanded you? Be STRONG and COURAGEOUS. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is WITH YOU WHEREVER YOU GO. “ I’m not alone. I have God on my side. He gives me strength and courage to keep going.

I love this in Isaiah. It was one of the first bible studies I participated in and this verse stayed with me giving me hope.
My verse that I have been clinging to lately is in 2 chronicles 20:17. You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, O Judah & Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.
I have been In a long trial 10 years of divorce with God putting the desire for restoration in my heart. We both became Christians after the divorce. His was 3 years ago. My ex husband says God is not telling him that & neither is his mentor. Instead my ex husband has reconnected with the woman he left me for. My ex is very rude to me & to our kids. Tomorrow we are getting together to discuss some issues & I have been wrestling with God about talking to my ex about God’s will & showing him scripture of what God would want for our family. My ex says he doesn’t know the Bible very well. I haven’t wanted to have this talk because of the continued rejection. My ex doesn’t want to talk about these things either. My guess is because he wants to to what he wants to do. His mentor is not pointing my ex to truth.
I am planning on giving my ex some scripture verses, and telling him he has a choice to obey or not. Then letting God fight this battle for our family.

I felt the prayers! I was able to speak with my ex, share lots of scripture. Now I pray that God will water the seeds & change my ex’s heart. That I will not get discouraged if I do not see fruit or God working, because truly God is always working. I pray Gods glory be revealed!

When something like that happens in your life, it’s hard to not want to question who God is, but I’ve learned through faith and prayer to praise Him at all times, ultimately His plan will always be better than mine, even if I dont understand why.

There was a time in my life when hopeless was my norm. The only reason I continued on was the responsibility of caring for my child. While raised in the Church, Church also became my job as a child (organist). Soon church was a stressful job that created a tremendous amount of anxiety and resentment. Upon enter college, I left church behind and freed myself of that pain. Throughout my adulthood, I intermittently tried to get involved in church, but was not successful. About 6 years ago, when life came crashing down, I went to a new church. For the first time ever, I heard the enemy described as my daily battle with self-doubt and insecurity. There were many versus that I began to recite in various situations, but Jeremiah 29:11 is one I often come back to.

Candace, thank you for being a living example in a world who needs to see what it is like to follow Jesus and to not back down. My favorite verses have changed throughout the years. Philippians 4:13 is the first verse I ever learned and one that I come back to frequently. But for right now. Psalm 62:5-8 are my life verses. They are the ones God revealed to me during this year of trust.
My favorite passage is Psalm 139, because it explains about how God KNOWS us so intimately. I have always felt like an outsider, but to God, I am not. He knit me together, He formed my very existence and He has written all of my days in His book. The good days, the bad days and everything in between.
During the failure of my marriage at 38, I am realizing more and more how much this passage means to me. God sees me. He knew that I’d be raising four children alone right now, and He will guide me through it, because He already knew what would happen!! What a blessing it is to be KNOWN BY GOD! ❤️

Since reading Denise J. Hughes’ book “Deeper Waters”, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about and quoting John 1:14
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (NKJV).
I LOVE that Jesus was 100% truth (the law), but was ALSO 100% GRACE. Unfortunately, through the years I have seen so many Christians who are all about the truth but forget the grace part of the equation! We are called to welcome and love those who may be different than ourselves into our churches. Those people should not be required to complete a checklist of dos and don’ts in order to become “one of us”. If sinners weren’t allowed into churches, we’d have to turn off the lights and lock the doors forever.

My life verse is Phillipians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. This verse centers me back on Jesus no matter where I am or what I am doing. If I’m in the middle of a crisis, I say this verse and feel the calm of the Lord come over me. If I’m struggling with a decision, I pray this verse and add the question, “Lord, what shall you have me do?” No matter what, this verse puts the emphasis back on Christ and not on me or my situation. God is good all the time! God bless you all at (in)courage – I love your emails, blogs, and products you put out. You are a Godsend to so many of us. as a teenager, i “whatevered” my parental units quit often and this carried over into adulthood – ok lets be honest, i still do this. In my 30s, i was doing this to a friend and she would quote this to me. At first it really annoyed me, but now when i am having those “whatever” moments, i grounds me and reminds to find the truth in that situation.
NOW when MY children get me the “whatever” i have started quoting this scripture to them. They have it memorized now too!

I love these verses because they remind me that God knows all truth and He is trustworthy. He will never lead me astray and He is a whole lot smarter than I am. He sees the whole picture and knows what I need better than I do. Reading and remembering this always brings me peace.

Philippians 4:6 because I am a worrier and it helps me but also because it’s my birthday.
I went through a very, very long battle with depression. It was so exhausting there were times that I thought I would never make my way through it. But thankfully God has healed me. It took lots of hard wok, but I am free from that prison. The verses I always used to cling to were 1 Peter 5:6-10. I especially love verse 10 a day version that says “He, Himself will restore, confirm, strengthen…” I needed that personal reassurance that God himself was right beside me even when I couldn’t fin Him.

Exodus 15:2-The Lord is my strength and my song. He has given me victory. I love this verse as I am a teacher and at times-I need reminding he is my strength and through him I can sing and get through the hard day. He has given me His peace and victory is found through him

There is so much life-giving truth in God’s word it’s hard to pick one passage or even one verse. I think this one sums up the great love that God has for us in that He did not spare anything to make us His chosen people forever. And NOTHING compares to that!

This week my favorite verse in the Bible comes from Matthew 14:27-29. This passage has stuck with me for the last two weeks as I was listening to a sermon on YouTube called Crazy Faith. After listening to the sermon, (which I highly suggest everyone goes to listen to) I meditated on the importance of if we truly believe and trust in Jesus he will not let us fall. I’m beginning my walk with Christ and I’m trying to dive into the word more. But this verse proves that when God speaks and you obey you will not fail. It proves that although we might get scared and fearful if we trust in Jesus when we start to fall he will be there to pick us up! He will not allow us to sink! He will remind us that believing in him should remove all fear and doubt because no matter what he will be there to protest us!

My favorite verse is found in Proverbs 3:5&6 – “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.”
For the majority of my adult life, this has been my go to verse. I get so caught up with what is happening in front of me and I forget to just trust God and not me or anyone else, and God will lead me in the direction I should be going.
This verse is hung in bedroom and it helps me to focus on the God of the Universe and not me.
My favorite verse has always been ” So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.” Romans 8:1-2
Everytime the enemy tries to remind me of my past and things I have done I remind him of this verse. I to didn’t grow up in a Christian home but I knew who Jesus was because of my Grandmother. I am a incest sexual abuse survivor (or warrior as my husband says, he says I didn’t just survive I conquered). When I was finally freed of the sexual bondage I was held in (at 30 years old) I went down a path of sexual destruction that could have lead to death because that’s all I thought I was worth and that men would want me for. But Jesus was always pursuing me and continually put people in my path that led me right back to him. I don’t know why God spared me and spared me from the mental scars that so many others battle that have been through the same fires as I have but I do know that we serve a mighty mighty God that can take your brokenness and make you whole again and doesn’t continually bring up your past but brings up your future. I know that I was designed for a specific purpose and I know that the pain I went through is a testimony to others that have faced similar situations and I know that God will use my story to help others as well. So many verses are my favorites, but I have two that are part of my everyday.
My life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6…
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.”
So many times these verses have become a life line when situations do seem to make sense. I may not understand the whats and the whys, but God has everything set in place for his purpose and glory.
Isaiah 25:1 is my second verse…
“Yahweh, You are my God;
I will exalt You.
I will praise Your name,
for You have accomplished wonders,
plans formed long ago,
with perfect faithfulness.”
Praise and worship to our great God, who has had the Perfect Plan orchestrated since before time began, which includes all those who trust in Him!
May we all continue to share the great story that’s all about Jesus until He returns!
My favorite verse is: Psalms 23:1 The Lord is My shepherd I shall not want. When I went through a terrible divorce 20 years ago, God met all my needs and many of my wants. I was a single mom and got nothing from the divorce due to my fear of what my ex husband would do to us if I tried to get anything, as he was very abusive. I will never forget how I had prayed for God to help me find a place to live for my son and I and we needed a yard with a fence for our little dog. He opened up the door for us to rent a small house with a yard and it had a fence in the backyard. He met our needs financially every week. We never went hungry and God gave me all kinds of extra work when I needed it. He is still my shepherd and I do not want!

As someone who has been in the public eye and television for years, it’s important to know that you’re one of God’s adopted daughters and mother, as I am! Even if our faith journey is similar, you and I are amazingly unique, in the eyes of our Creator. Psalm 139:13 & 14 “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
I love Isaiah 43:18-19

Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness,

A reminder to be “looking” for what God is about to do!
My life verse(s) is John 10:3b-5: “…the (His) sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger…because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” As a young Christian I always was worried I’d be deceived into believing I was following Jesus when I was not. These three verses settled that matter for me and now, 37 years later, I am still following Jesus as He guides my steps as an Urban Missionary. I thank God for these verses of comfort and reassurance that have guided my walk with Him.
As I open my eyes every morning, I recite this verse and begin thinking on purpose before the devil starts thinking for me. I am mindful that if I have empty space available, the devil will fill it. This verse puts my first thoughts squarely on the One to whom I belong and gives me strength for the day.
Psalm 62:5-6: Rest in God alone, my soul, for my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will not be shaken.
I have so many favorites that it’s hard to choose! This past year I have been involved in a new church plant and our ladies group is named “Radiant” and we use this as our verse: Psalm 34:5 “Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.”

Psalm 23:1 – The LORD is my shepherd; I have what I need.
I’ve heard that verse a million times, but the first time I read it in CSB it hit me. Other versions call us to not want, but CSB puts it plainly. I don’t want BECAUSE God has given me what I need – even if it doesn’t look like I expected.
I have so many that I truly love but here lately I have been focusing on Philippians 4:13. I am a mother of three with my second child being a senior in high school and my youngest a Kindergartner. I work full time and now lead a group of Kindergarten boy scout. My daughter, the senior, is also in Marching band so there are always Friday night football games and lots of practices during the week. On top of this I have decided to go back to school. Sometimes it can feel a little overwhelming but I truly do love it all and try to soak up and cherish each moment.
My favorite verse right now is 1 Corinthians 10:13, 13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. It reminds me that no matter what I am dealing with God is faithful to see me through it.

“A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps”.
This verse has always held true in every season I’ve walked through. So many times we want to jump ahead of God, make our own plans, or we want to know how to get to the final destination of what God is calling us to. We don’t want to take the steps to get there. We don’t want to experience the preparation and growth that’s required. When anxiety builds up, and I feel so unsure of what to do.. this verse breaths life into this weary soul, and I can hear the Lord say, “One step of obedience at a time.” In that moment I’m reminded I can trust the one who holds my future in His hands. I’m reminded that whatever He asks me to do, big or small.. if I take that one step of obedience, it will be a stepping stone leading to my destination. I know if I trust my Heavenly Father, and walk closely with Him, He will guide my steps and I will hear Him say, “This is the way, walk in it.” And I will walk in it, trusting every step He has planned for my life, for the glory of His name.
My favourite verse is Isaiah 41v10 – love that verse, when it seems like all is going against you, people or circumstances, it reminds me that I should not be afraid or discouraged as the Lord will give me strength and sustain me.
Isaiah 49:16a, See I have inscribed you on the palm of my hands. I can’t think of a better place to be than being held safely in God’s hands. This has brought me great comfort, especially when dearly loved family and friends has gone home to be with Him. They too are held in His hands.

Isaiah 40:31 is special because it reminds me to not give up on praying. I have held onto that verse my entire life.

This is my favorite verse because it reminds me that no matter what, God wants to spend time with me. He wants me to talk to Him. He wants me to spend time in prayer and praise.
My favorite verse is very small but has had an impact on me. 1 Thess. 5:17 – “Pray without ceasing”. It has been my go -to during happy times and tough times.
1 Peter 3:3-4 has long been one of my life verses: “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment … Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” (NIV)
As an introvert this verse reminds me that I have value the way God designed me and I hope that I am able to share His love and peace with others.
My verse for this year is Psalm 143:8: “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing Love, for I have put my Trust in You. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. (NIV)

God’s Word is my road map! On the days I fail to spend time in HIS WORD I often get lost-it’s life giving!
Candace- Thank you for openly sharing your faith and advocating spending time reading God’s Word daily. One of my favorite passages is Psalm 90. Here are the first 6 verses:
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

This passage tells us to fear not for God has redeemed us. He has called us by name, we are His. It’s meaningful to me because it’s a reminder that no matter what we face, God is with us!
Jeremiah 29;11 gives me hope that’s why it’s my favorite

This verse reminds me to stop striving to control the world around me and to stop worrying about the problems in my life. The Lord is working and fighting on my behalf – I only need to be still and abide in Him.
I don’t really have a favorite verse yet. The bible still confuses me and I struggle trying to make sense of it. I so need the peace that others have found through reading the bible. I would love the opportunity to win this one. It sounds like it might help me get more out of it. Thank you.

Jeremiah 29:11 has been a pull in my life. Everytime I feel like giving up I remember that the Lord wants to give me the best for me, even when I don’t feel it, this verse is telling me exactly that.

God must have meant for our paths to cross. I have struggled with chronic anxiety my whole life. The scripture you quoted reminded me that anxiety is from the enemy and I need to line up my anxious thoughts with God’s truth. If they don’t match up, then I need to kick the enemy, and the anxiety he brings, to the curb.

This is my favorite verse because it reminds me to trust in my Lord and not to lean on my own ways. God will lead you in the right path if you trust and follow Him!
My favorite verse is 1 Peter 5:7. It was the verse preprinted on many of the sympathy cards I received in 1992 when my infant daughter died. It was at the point in my life that I truly became dependent on Jesus as my Lord and Savior, my caretaker, my loving father…because I knew I could not walk that road of grief without his help.
I like all Gods words. In the BibIe. I don’t want to win a Bible. I not saying this for the sake of it. I saying this out truth. It would cost you lovely people even if I did pick a verse. As I live the other side of the world in Enniskillen Co.Fermanagh N.Ireland to much money to post them too me. I have tried to buy the incourage Bible on line only place is in €dollors I can seem to get it. So with it being in dollars I didn’t bother buying one. As where I live it is £ pounds. My favorite verse is Proverbs 31:25 ” She is clothed in strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future!” Life has thrown a lot of curve balls at me including the loss of my sweet, precious husband when I was 39. I have decided that this verse reminds me that no matter what life brings, I can just laugh because I know that God has my back and will provide me with the strength and dignity to face any and all challenges!

There are many verses I find myself clinging to at different times. One of my favorite is Micah 6:8 “…what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God”. There was a time when my parents “made” me memorize scripture verses, and this is the only one I remember from that time in childhood!
I recently memorized 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 and love it’s simplicity:
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” ESV
Psalm 27:13-14
I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!

We have a son who has some special needs and can struggle with daily life. It’s sometimes super overwhelming and easy to become discouraged, but one of my favorite verses is Romans 12:12 that says “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” The Message version puts it this way: “Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder.” God promises to provide these things to us when we keep coming to Him, and Lord knows, we won’t find it without Him! I keep asking Him to build these things in my heart and life through the adversities and hard things. I know He will do it because He is good and He is faithful. Blessings to you and your ministry!

I have the hard cover version of this and have enjoyed reading the stories of the women of the Bible-I have even discovered a couple I had never heard of! My favorite verse is Is 40:31 because it gives me hope that even when times are hard, the Lord will give me strength and Hope.
Today as the world continues to try and move God further and further from my life and have me believe evil is good and good is evil, I find myself reciting this verse frequently.

My story is much like yours, good kid, went to church, didn’t get into trouble, but when I was 45 God gave me a real wake up call and I finally realized that He wanted me to actively participate in all that He had for me. I’m striving to be faithful in His plan for my life.

This verse reminds me that I am not alone… God is with me. I do not need to fear or worry about what is coming up because God’s got me, whatever happens!

My favorite Bible verse is Ecclesiastes 3:1: To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven. Actually, the first 8 verses, as that’s what helped me get through my Daddy’s illness and his homegoing. Even now, when things are going well or not, I think of those verses, and know that there are different seasons, and God is faithful and will see me through.
I actually have two favorite verses and I will need to share them both. First is Numbers 6:24-26 which says “The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.” This verse is one I pray over and share with my two kids. They have it memorized and when we are having a rushed day or going bed late, they remind me to pray it.
The second one is Psalms 23 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” This is one of my two favorites because it is one that carried me through breast cancer, autism diagnosis for my son and divorce. The key words of what God does for me as I walk my journey and in my normal are, lead, restores, comfort, prepare, anoint, goodness, mercy and dwell. These are words that through this passage have held me and given me courage to continue moving forward.

I have so many life verses that have sustained me through many difficult times in my life but the one that keeps coming back to my mind time and time again is from Isaiah 43:2 2 When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up—the flames will not consume you.
This verse sustained me when I first separated from my husband back in 1990. I had 2 young children and not working. I had no idea what to do. AN elder of the church came to me and quietly whispered this verse to me and I have since leaned on it many times. It has seen me through many difficult seasons of my life. It has shown me the faithfulness of God.

It’s such a comfort to know that God has EVERYTHING under control and we may not be able to comprehend His plan or timing but we need to realize God knows infinitely more than we do and we won’t know the “whys” of certain things until we meet Him in heaven. Always give thanks and glory to God!
To pin down one verse is difficult. But I think this one sums it up…
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”— 2 Corinthians 12:9
Not too many years ago, my husband and I moved in with his mother and father, several states away. They were in very poor health, and needed 24 hour care. The situation was extremely difficult, and even though they were happy to have us there, the illnesses and recuperation were stressful – even more so because of the new living arrangement. Because of our commitment and their dire need, there was no way out! These 2000 year old words from Jesus to Paul were my lifeline to sanity. They were as fresh and life-giving to me then as they were to Paul! Although we have passed through that chapter, I continue to lean on those words, and the hope and peace they give.
Below is one of my favorite verses but, also one that I struggle with the most. For me it serves as a reminder that even though there are negative things & people in the world I shouldn’t allow that negativity to enter into my heart. (stay grounded in Him & what pleases him)
Proverbs 4:23 New International Version (NIV)
23 Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.
He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.
So many favorite verses, it’s hard to choose! Our family is going through a season of struggles, and right now my go to passage is Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Such a wonderful reminder that we need to trust Him and acknowledge that He is in control of every trial we are facing – He knows each one, and He will see us through.

I have a Kindle (for PC) version of the devotional Bible, but I’m wishing I had a hard copy, because I can’t navigate the Kindle version; it’s not like reading a novel or non fiction book from front to back. There are times I want to read different portions at different times, and for some reason I can’t do that on my e-book version (maybe I’m an old dog who can’t be taught “new tricks” ;-)).

Jeremiah 29:13-14 “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you. declares the Lord and will bring you back from captivity”. I have experienced SO much anxiety, confusion and chaos and these words have built strength inside me. God is ALWAYs there- I need to call the name of Jesus when I feel the weight of this world. He will never leave me.

Matthew 7:7-87 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” These verses remind me that I have to ask for what I need, take action (seek) to reach my goal, knock (take my need to Jesus through prayer) and He will answer and open the door to me. All the pictures of “the door” where we stand and knock have one thing in common…there is no door knob on our side. Jesus answers our knock and He opens the door. Nothing we can do will open it, only Jesus can admit us.

Ezekiel 36:26-27,36 are verses I go back to constantly, not only as a reminder of what God has done in my heart and life, but especially as a reminder of why He works so powerfully in the lives of His children….to shine His redemptive work to the world around us!
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you;

I will place my Spirit within you and cause you to follow my statutes

Psalm 46:10 – Be Still, and know that I am God.
I’ve read it thousands of times. I have it on a coffee mug and framed on my wall, and yet I still have to go back to it over and over again to remind myself that this one little, simple sentence has to be my guiding force. I have three teenage sons, one who is top of his class and going to college next fall with a full ride scholarship, one who is autistic and challenging and amazing, and one who suffers horribly from depression and anxiety (but is still so so good-hearted). My husband and I both work full time. We are incredibly active in our church and in our community. We are a busy family. I run until I am exhausted. I have doubts about, well.. everything. I forget to pray until I’m desperate. I am wholly imperfect.
This verse commands me, reminds me, and forgives me all in seven words.
My favorite Bible verse is: Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10. It is the reminder that I need to slow down and connect.
I just read this week a quote from Mother Teresa: The fruit of silence is prayer; the fruit of prayer is faith; the fruit of faith is love; the fruit of love is service; the fruit of service is peace.
The posture of stillness grows wholeness and holiness.

This is my favorite verse below or one of them because God is always with us. He never leaves us and that comforts me. He has always been my one sure one to depend on and my stability. I have had a lot of people disappoint me that were supposed to love me. He has filled a lot of holes where that is missing.

Ever have one of those “Oh wow!” moments, when reading God’s Word? My very first “Oh wow!” moment was happened as I read Jeremiah 33:3 “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” For the first time ever, God spoke to ME with a message of hope, of promise, of a future as I stumbled through a new life in Christ. As a fairly new believer, I was awed that the King of Creation, the Lord of Glory, the author of love would deign to speak with insignificant me. That Word from our Heavenly Father has continued to sustain me through the years, encouraging me to look forward with confidence. He is only a call away. And the knowledge that He “is always with me, will never leave me, nor forsake me” means more since I realized that God truly is invested in each redeemed sinner

While I was pregnant me and my husband couldn’t think of a name for our son and God lead me to find Isaiah because I was so scared of becoming a mother. Now we have a healthy boy Isaiah Titus and we couldn’t be happier.

My favorite is Psalm 23… The Lord is my shepherd….The imagery in this psalm is beautiful and it brings me peace and comfort if I am troubled.

It seems my “favorite” verse changes from season to season in my life. Right now, I find great comfort in Micah 7:7 – But I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.
My favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5. Many times I wish I could have a crystal ball to look into the future. I know that is possible. I am working on turning to God more. Even when I pray about my anxieties or uncertainties, I have a calmness after praying to God….kind of like a feeling that everything will be all right.

I have many favorite verses but the one that is speaking to me right now in this phase of life is Psalm 16:11, “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” This verse reminds me that He guides me on the path of life, that real joy in all its fullness can only be found by being in His presence, and the He is the giver of pleasures that are everlasting. When I submit myself fully to Him, I am going to receive His fullness! ❤️

I grew up in a single parent home, never knowing my biological father. I didn’t grow up in a practicing Christian home and the lack of a father figure in our household really messed with my self-image. I looked for love in all the wrong places. Then, close to 30-years-old, I read this verse. My life was turned upside down, but in the best possible way to the glory of Our Father God.
It’s difficult to pick one favorite bible verse, but I think it might be psalm 34:18.
The LORD is close to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
My life verse is “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart” Psalm 37:4. As we draw closer to the Lord, His desires become our desires & we can live life abundantly as he desires.
One of my all time favorite verses is Zephaniah 3:17 which says, “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” This verse speaks so much to me because I have been through verbal and emotional abuse and felt like I was never good enough but this verse tells us how our Heavenly Papa DELIGHTS in us! How amazing is that to hear that Papa is mighty enough to save us and also adores us enough to sing over us! So powerful!!
One of my favourites is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. My mom wrote down that verse for me when I was a teen and struggling with times of sadness and lack of joy. It is continually a wonderful reminder of the life that God wants for us.

The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.
After my parents died I strayed from the Lord. I was angry, bitter…I blamed him for leaving me in my time of most need. Several years later I have returned realizing that he never left me, I left him. Now that I am embracing his love and following his path again my life has restored peace.
As I am grieving the loss of my older sister, I’m holding onto Isaiah 40:31, “But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint”.
Matthew 6:22 “If your eye is pure, there will be sunshine in your soul
This bible verse tells you everything could be going wrong or a dark clouds happening at that moment and then all of a sudden the sunshine pops up and shines bright knowing that God has changed and bringing anointing in your life and make you feel that God is in control and taking care of your worries. Its means to me that Unexpected Sunshine is coming my way.
My favorite verse is John 16:33. It gives me hope and strength to face the world knowing that Jesus overcame it and one day I will leave this to be with Him
In every season of life, during every struggle, this verse always comforts me and lets me know I’m NEVER truly alone. From my lifelong battle with depression to the loss of my beautiful mama – this verse never fails me.

No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised.”
As someone who struggles with chronic illness, this passage has time and time again been a comfort and a reminder to me that I am not the only one to doubt God’s ability to use me in light of my frail body. And yet, look at how the Lord used Abraham and Sarah, in the midst of their frailty, their age, their barrenness. With the Lord nothing is impossible, and He keeps His promises, always. I need this reminder every day.
Whenever I hit a low point in my life, I turn to Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths”. It reminds me to live with the confidence that God always does what is best even when I can’t see it as so. It changes, but right now my favorite verse is Luke 18:3- ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’ As a woman fighting and winning against ovarian cancer, I claim this verse for God’s finished and complete work of healing on a daily basis. I even had a prayer necklace designed on Etsy with that verse printed out on it in my own handwriting.

My favorite verse is Isa. 41:10

I was in a horrible car accident back in December of 1989 and 6 month pregnant at the time with my daughter. I told mom at the hospital that my glasses must be at the wreck site. She and my dad went to the site of the accident and found my old Bible and inside the Bible at Isaiah 41 is where my glasses were found completely undamaged. God was taking care of me then and has ever since.
My favorite verse is actually a simple line from Psalm 46:10…BE STILL AND KNOW I AM GOD…..I have struggled to BE STILL in most of my walk with Christ. This verse reminds me to wait on HIM. I am thrilled to see your new devotional Bible coming out! Beautiful colors and jacket design. I greatly respect you as an actress..but even more so as a Godly woman not afraid to defend her faith. “How precious are Your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand” – Psalm 139:17-18. Where I work there is 1 person who can’t stand me. When I dare speak, she moans, sighs, mumbles under her breath and sometimes stomps out of the room. I have to recite this verse daily to keep me from being defined by this daily treatment. God loves me and has precious thoughts of me. Too many to count. I read His Word daily, write them down on a piece of paper and put them in my pocket. #pocketverse
My favorite ‘life verse’ is Ephesians 3:16-21

This is the verse I feel myself thinking all the time. It helps me to know God is right there standing beside – even during the not so good times. He is always there – He will give me everything I need. He will be there when I fall. I can do anything in front of me because He is there.
“When anxiety was great within me, Your consolation brought me joy”. Psalm 94:19. I struggle with anxiety on a daily basis, and cling to this verse. God is so good to provide comfort when needed. Thank you for sharing this, Candace, and for the opportunity!

My favorite verse from the Bible (and it is my life verse) is Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths (NKJV). Honestly, it wasn’t until my later adult years that I even picked up a Bible, even though we had about a half dozen copies around the house. I happened to be going through a difficult “patch” and did what you sometimes hear people suggest, just flip open your Bible to no page in particular and see what verse your eyes land on. The above verse from Proverbs was it, and it was though not only a light went on, but the whole room was full of light. So many things became clear with that simple verse. For years I tried to do things on my own, without help, without asking for guidance, took direction and counsel from the wrong people and got in a few messes that only by God’s grace I got out of. The road to the straight and narrow path has been long and torturous, but with a happy new chapter. The bad influences are gone, replaced by good and decent people who have not only my best interests at heart, but those of everyone around them.

I chose this verse because it is very encouraging to me. I live with several chronic illnesses that bring a lot of daily pain & it reminds me that God has a purpose for my life. He has a plan for me & a reason for me to be here. My story may be inspiring someone else to stay strong. As I serve Him, volunteer & teach I can inspire the next person. He will give me the strength for each day.
My favorite Bible verse is Psalm 34:17-18 because it is a reminder to me that whatever troubles I have in my life, no matter how low I feel, I can always (always!) turn to Him in prayer and He will not only hear me but also deliver me from my troubles and relieve my spirit. I think of this all the time and it has been such a comfort to me.

I love this verse because it helps me refocus my life. There is so much pressure from the world to look a certain way, but God says what he really cares about is a woman who follows God with her whole heart.

It’s. So. BEAUTIFUL. choosing a favorite verse is darn near impossible but I’ve always been drawn to Isaiah 40:31 “but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
I think I’ve been drawn to this because I have battled with an eating disorder for twelve years that has stolen absolutely everything from me and the thought of having boundless strength and the freedom of a bird and the power to fight without growing weary is so appealing and hopeful.

I particularly love Psalm 23, because it brings peace to my heart and mind every time I read it.
So MANY favorites. Right now, I’m loving Psalm 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart”. This is a sweet scripture for many reasons ! Delight yourself in the Lord! Isn’t that wonderful–to take delight in the Lord. And then, He will give me the desires of my heart. He knows my heart & will give me His desires.
I have so many favorite verses depending on what I’m going through. I think the one right now that is sticking with me is Matthew 20:28 “just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” This one really makes me consider how I live my life, do I just take or do I give and serve others like Jesus did? I love the reminder in these verses that no matter the circumstances, particularly the desolate and discouraging times, my joy comes from Jesus and I can choose to rejoice and praise His name.

This verse reminds me that Jesus’ plans for us are so very good. The evil one wants to steal our life and our joy but Jesus came to give us life to the full!

I love this verse, because it summarizes the whole Christian walk. It shows how much Jesus loves us and how far He was willing to go for us. Psalms 139 brings me such comfort and reminds me how inescapable God’s love is for us! This passage always grounds my heart and speaks hope to a harrowing world.

My favorite at the moment is psalms 59:16 But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.
Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. James 1:19. I think our world could be a better place if everyone followed this verse.
This verse is one that was laid on my heart to teach in Sunday School over the last couple of years. It is really important for children to learn early if they are willing. I agree that our world would be better if everyone practiced it.
The bible verses for me are Proverbs 31: 10-31. This is helping me to see what a woman after God’s own heart is like. I have had the honor to meet a few women who are very close the description in those verses and I am learning alot. Having not had a mother around since I was a child, it helps me fill in the blanks so I can teach my children.
I used an Amplified Bible for years. It was great cause it has so many fancy words and extras but often found myself distracted or sometimes having to re-read the passage due to getting caught up in all the extra wording. Now that I have my (in) Courage Bible I have found an understanding of the Bible I have never had before. I LOVE this Bible so much! I recommended it and a friend purchased as well and she LOVES it too!
I use to use an AMP Bible but all the extra wording sometimes left me distracted and frustrated cause I would have to re-read. My (in) Courage Bible changed that. I can read this version and I have an understanding I have never had before. Love love the devotions and extras. Recommended to a friend and she loves as well!! Best Bible version ever!

This is my life verse as it always is true to me just like all the other verses in the Bible. Sometimes i worry too much and when i say this verse to myself, it reminds me that God has got it all this time and He always gives me the best plan! One time, I was told that I have PCOS and I would have a hard time conceiving. 3 years into my marriage, I conceived but had a miscarriage. After 2 years, I conceived again and praise God for a healthy baby boy. I experienced pregnancy with my sister-in-law; now my baby has a cousin too! Such a perfect timing! God’s got me!

Hebrews 11:1. My sons are both on the autism spectrum. Their healing has been consistent and true but God doesn’t always reveal his healing in the flesh or in the things we see, but in the faith of the unseen. That verse is what gets me through our autism journey.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 (esv) This verse has been my favorite because, after having my youngest child almost four years ago, I became extremely ill and, after three years of being sick to the point of being homebound, was diagnosed with Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia syndrome, as well as multiple other conditions. It’s been the most challenging season of my life but this verse keeps me focused on the truth that God will use it for His good.
My favorite verse of the Bible is Psalm 138:8 NIV “The LORD will fulfill His purpose for me.” It is my life verse that God speaks to me to encourage and guide me.

My favourite verse was placed into my pigeon hole at university nearly 20 years ago. It’s 2 Timothy 1 v7 “for god did not give us a spirit of timidity but of power of love and of sound mind” i struggle with anxiety and worry a lot (!) so it reminds me to keep focusing on God and trusting him in the difficult times and helps keep my mind on his word and hanging on in spite of any fears I face x
My favorite verse is “You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”
1 John 4:4 CSB. So much is going on in the world and this verse just reminds me that I the Holy Spirit or God dwelling in me is greater than ANYTHING I will face in this world. That God is close and that with His spirit dwelling in me I can face anything!

I love this verse. It comforts me when I think about my brothers passing
He was carrying many heavy loads in so many different areas of his life. God took those away and gave him rest. Now he is no longer in pain, but is experiencing peace for the first time in a long time.

I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13 January 2009 I had surgery for bowel reconstruction. The doctor tried to do the surgery without me having to get a colostomy bag. He did it. Only about 5 or 6 days later about a foot of my intestines died, so back into surgery I went. Came out with the colostomy bag. Because of the surgery I had to stop taking my arthritis medication. When I was able to go back on the medication it didn’t work. Up until about 4 years ago the arthritis doctor finally found a medication that worked. She had to be really careful with what she chose because I had small open wounds. Arthritis medication lowers your immune system. So I was very susceptible to get an infection. Since then I have had 3 more surgeries, 3 seizures, numerous doctors appointments, lab work, a cracked spine. So through all this I relied on the strength that only God could give me to live every day. There have been times where I thought it would be easier for myself and my family if I had just went home to be with our God. But I heard a voice saying if it was meant for me to go home with Him either when I was in ICU after the second surgery or one of the seizures He would have taken me. I finally figured out that I’m a walking miracle. I’m a walking testament. I have not given up my faith. It is so much stronger now. I lived so I can tell others of His love for us. People ask me how can you be smiling with all that you’ve been through? There’s only one answer: God. He has never left me or forsaken me. He was always by my side. And He still is. And I thank Him every day for it.
The verse that I have stood on for over 35 years now is Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” The reason being that all those many years ago, when I was 23, I was diagnosed with clinical depression, out of the blue. I had never dealt with anything like it before, and because of God’s mercy and promises, I haven’t since. But at the time there came a point, although never wanting to or even thinking about harming myself, I told the Lord that if I went to sleep that night and He just didn’t wake me up the next day, it would be ok with me. I did wake up the next day, had the deepest interaction with the Lord I have ever had, threw away the meds (prescribed by my doctor, of which I had only taken 1), and began to walk out of that dark valley, speaking and hearing Jeremiah 29:11 with every footfall. The Lord has been so faithful and good to me that I can’t even remember how long it took to walk out of it, but it wasn’t long, and near the end, for one of only about 2 times in my life, I heard the Lord speak audibly to my spirit and say “You will never go through this again”. He has never (and I know that I know that I know he won’t) broken that promise to me. Like everyone else in this broken world I have bad days, blue days, valley seasons, but I know the difference. He has allowed me to remember that there was total despair during the depression, but He has never allowed me to remember the ‘feelings’ that went along with it. Again, another gift of His mercy and love and goodness. I know that coming out of and dealing with depression isn’t the same for everyone, but one thing IS the same… a God in heaven who is there for you, and is waiting for you to trust Him and let Him do a work in you. I have never shared this story publicly until now. Whether I win the Bibles or not, I hope this post encourages someone and helps them take that first step OUT of their valley. God bless.
Psalm 27:13 is one of several that have left a lasting impact on my walk with God: “I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living.” He is so good all the time, and His goodness does not depend on my circumstances. God has revealed His goodness to me in the hardest places. Bittersweet. When I was sick, when I discovered sin in my home that devastated my soul, when I was hurting, He was my comfort. And yes, He was good in all those spaces. He was so good to meet me at my place of pain and give me the strength to hold onto Him. And His presence comforted me—God with us.
One of my favorite verses is Philipians 4:5. It is sandwiches in between two other more well known verses, but it is a Word that the Lord has spoken into my life over and over, both encouraging and exhorting me. Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. I have needed to learn to be gentle through and through, not just with strangers or friends but especially with family too. I tend to form strong opinions quickly and the Lord then reminds me to be gentle and trust Him. He is near to help me and to remind not to follow my selfish desires.
The verse(s) that I find myself going to again and again is Psalm 34:17-18
“When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears
and delivers them out of all their troubles.
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit.”
I love this passage because it makes me feel less alone and reminds me that no matter what I am going through, no matter how anxious or sad I feel, I know that He is there for me.

I love devotional Bibles. Great to see “famous” people touting the word of God. We need this desperately. Our world is dark anymore. Some favorite verses are Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you”
declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you & not to harm. To give you a hope & a future.” That tells me that God has great plans for me no matter what happens. Lose a job-he’s got a better one waiting. My next verse is Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing.”
Hard to imagine a great & powerful God who rejoices over us with singing. He loves us soooo much!

There are too many Bible verses to choose from and I think it really depends on what is going on in my life at the time as to what is my favorite. I really like Ecclesiastes 3:11 which talks about His timing.

This verse helps me every day because I have an illness called Neurofibromatosis which causes a tremendous amount of health issues. Having this illness does not stop me! I have excellent work ethic, although; it can get hard at times. I have amazing family and friends who are always there for me. I live a good happy life and I am very grateful and thankful with how God made me!! Anyhow, this verse reminds me that, with God’s grace I can get through anything!!
So many wonderful verses to choose from but my favorite is John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” . I love it because it is His word telling us that He loves us and showing the full extent of his love towards all. The gospel message in just a few words-my style.
The Bible verse that is my favorite (at the moment) is 2 Corinthians 12:9. I am going through a very difficult time in my life right now, and it is so comforting to know that God’s grace is sufficient.
Ah, it’s hard to pick just one favorite verse! But I think a long-standing theme for encouragement and strength in my life is Isaiah 40:29-31 –
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
I have felt weary and faint many times, whether from emotional issues, health issues, or difficult experiences, and I So appreciate God’s heart, that even from when I was young (or whatever age you are/I am), the Lord speaks to me that I Can be weary, BUT that He picks me up and has His Strength for me… Over the years, that truth sinks in deeper and deeper, and I am So Thankful. And even when I may stumble again, the surety of His Presence and His wings picks me back up. Thank you, Lord.

I think my favourite Bible verse (well 1 of as there as so so many good ones) is Isaiah 61:1-4. The reason is that that this is my life passage. By calling and profession I am a clinical counselor specializing in trauma so these verses ring very true for me

I love the whole book of Jeremiah, but I have been going through some trials lately and have been clinging to this particular verse.
So many favorite Bible passages to name off. This one speaks to my heart often: From Exodus 14:14. When the Israelites were running from the Egyptians and about to cross the Red Sea. “The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still.”

My favorite Bible verse is PSALM 34: 10- The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. It is my favorite Bible Verse because knowing we don’t have to seek things in order to be and do what God calls us to do in this lifetime is freeing. We just need to seek the Lord and his will.

A few months ago I realized that I needed a verse to ground me in this new stage of my life- I’m a graduate student. I found John 14:27. I can’t believe I didn’t know about it before because it perfectly sums up my longing to find internal and external peace. I now say it myself at least once a day. It reminds me that I’m never alone and that what I have is bigger than any conflict or discomfort.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
How exciting! It’s so hard to pick one favorite verse, but Matthew 6:33 has been one for a very long time. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you.” It’s such a great reminder of where to focus. ❤️

Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God. We are going through a very, very difficult time in our lives, financially and health wise. There have been so many times God has just spoken to my heart and said just Be still because I am still God and you have nothing to be afraid of. It is then that I can just step back and take a deep breath and remember who is in control. I would love, love, love to win one of these Bible’s!!!! It would mean so much to me to have one and to be able to gift one to someone else. What a great idea!!!

I love this verse because all my life I have always felt the need to do something about every situation in my life. Always falling short of course because I alone am never enough. God is always more than enough.

I have 3! 1 for each of my preparations for the arrival of my children. Bed rest with each of my 2 biological girls (Joshua 1:9 and 2 Cor 12:9) and almost 5 years waiting to bring our daughter home from Haiti (Exodus 14:14)!
Ephesians 2:8 Saved by grace thru Faith… I wear a ring everyday with that Bible verse on it. It reminds me of where I was and where God has brought me.

When my dad died unexpectedly in October 11 2014 God gave me this scripture and it had been such a comfort to stand on and soothing balm for my soul. Such comfort. I would love to have one of these bibles.

I’ve stood on this many times when my world has fallen apart… and always when I look back in those seasons… that’s exactly what God did for me.
My favorite Bible verse is Deuteronomy 33:27 “The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms”. When I became a Christian in 1980 at age 22 I saw a card that had this verse on it and it really became personal to me….I imagined that no matter what, God had His arms open wide underneath me like a safety net to catch me anytime I would fall….several months later, I was at church at a prayer meeting, and a lady I only knew slightly prayed with me….and she said “God wants you to know that He is your refuge and underneath are His everlasting arms…!!!” She basically quoted this beautiful verse, but had no idea that it was so special to me….so I believe that was truly God speaking so beautifully and personally to me!

Our first day began with an evening—with a time of rest.
Since the beginning of time God wanted us to be at rest, to take a step back—look, see His goodness, and rest in peace knowing the God of all Creation is in control.
Having a bout with my anxiety one night and God showed me a bit of peace in a passage I’d never think twice about when trying to put my anxieties at rest. As a single mom of four finding that alone time with God can be tough. Working 6 days and making sure kids are always good. I beat myself up so much about not always being able to wake up earlier than what I do already to have time with God before my day starts. This verse will forever resound in my thoughts now.
One of my favorite verses is Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, present your requests to God.
My family and I just moved from Georgia to Alaska and my anxiety about moving has threatened to take over many times. I rely on this verse so much. It has helped me get through a difficult times.

My favorite Bible Verses are Proverbs 3:5-6. They are my favorite because we can trust God, but we, not always understand what he is doing. If we put Him first and acknowledge Him in everything, He will direct our paths
1 Samuel 1:20 – the week after we got married, my husband and I were hit head on by a drunk driver. I had a lot of internal issues and scar tissue developed. 6 months later we lost a pregnancy at 12 weeks because of that scar tissue. For the next 6 months, I prayed hard for God to remove the scar tissue and let me have a child. I related tonHannah’s story of wanting a child so bad. 1 Samuel was the book I was studying the day we found out we were pregnant again! We now have a very healthy and rambunctious 3 year old named Samuel!
I have two:
Proverbs 3:6 “In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.” My husband led me to Christ when we were dating, and when I was baptized he bought me a Bible and inscribed it with this. It was a beautiful start for my new life in Christ and also what was a major step on our way to marriage and family.

Joshua 24:15 “Choose you this day whom ye will serve…but as for me and my house we will serve the LORD.” When we married and moved into our first home, we purchased a beautiful piece of artwork with this and hung it in our entry way. It was a commitment we made together that day. We also live in a neighbourhood where the majority of people are of a different faith and it’s a wonderful blessing and way to minister to all who enter our home.
These two verses are the foundation for our lives and for our family and have always guided us.

Jeremiah 29:11–this verse has been my go to for so many years. A constant reminder when surrounded by bad that God has my back. That he has amazing plans for me and my life. So important for me.
It’s hard to pick one so I’m going to give two because they mean so much in my current transition in life.
My husband and I were told we couldn’t have biological children four years ago and I began to explore grief with God. Proverbs 30:15,16 says “There are three things that are never satisfied, four that never say, “enough” The grave, the barren womb, land, which is never satisfied with water, and fire, which never says, “enough.”
The ache to be a mother was so deep I understood what “enough” meant.
Enough pain. Enough jealousy. Enough avoiding how I felt. Enough not resting. Enough hating myself.
Through the process of grace and love God taught me how to set boundaries, how to rest, how to restore friendships and how amazing the man God gave me to love is.
In April, we found out we’re expecting a daughter. I am having a healthy wonderful pregnancy that statistically speaking is incredibly rare our doctors are in shock.
Ecclesiastes 7:13,14 says “consider what God has done: who can make straight what he made crooked? When times are good, be happy. But when times are bad, consider; God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, a man cannot discover anything about his future.”
Through infertility God grew me into a better me, a better wife and a new mom. Yes, that season was incredibly hard but looking back I’m grateful to have gone through it. I praise Him every day and each time my daughter moves inside of my belly I know God is smiling with me.
Psalm 73:23 “Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.” I love this verse because in times when I have to do something hard on my own, I am reminded that He is with me. I am never truly alone. It brought me so much comfort before a few difficult surgeries.
Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!
Has been my life verse since I first was introduced to having a relationship with Christ in high school.
I use it with my kids now too when they say they can’t do anything and now they have memorized it.
John 3:16
Because if God hadn’t given us Jesus, where would we be?
Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever” This verse means so much to me because even when I have tough days, Jesus never changes. He will always be there for me and no matter how I change, he never does.
Psalm 37:4, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
The more I spend time with Him, the more my desires become His desires and not my own.

Along with asking God to set a guard at my mouth this scripture is something I often say to myself. I want to be a good listener and strive to only use positive uplifting words to others.

Not only since my husband a retired combat medic but my brother-in-law was a fire fighter killed in the line of duty.

There have been times in my life where I was at rock bottom and have felt completely alone. This truth tells me I was never alone. God is so good.
Psalm 46:1–“God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble.”
He is always there for me, every second of every day. Even when I’m not thinking about him, He’s always aware of me.
2 Samuel 12:23: “…Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me.”
It may seem like a strange favorite verse out of all of God’s encouraging and comforting words, but I cling to this verse as My promise that I will someday meet the three babies that I lost before I got to hold them. I was never able to carry a child full term so the loss is magnified. You would think at 60 years old, I would be past the grief. Whenever the hole in my heart starts to ooze anguish, I remember David’s words that I believe were anointed by God to give hope to me and others who have lost a child.
There are so many, but 2 tie for the top. Of those 2, having to pick only one, I would say Philippians 4:6. Starting early 2010, my then husband of 34 years thought the grass would be greener with his daughters best friend, and we divorced. In the course of 6 months, I felt like I lost my whole life. My younger sister died shortly after my divorce was filed, my best friends parents died within 5 months of each other, my sons best friend pulled out in front of a cement truck and died instantly and if the human loss wasn’t enough, my best friend and 4 legged daughter had to be put to rest for illness. All of these things happened between Aug 2010 and Jan 2011.
I carried a clipboard with me at work most of the 8 hours and shortened the verse to read: Do Not Worry About Anything. It was written on a sticky note and placed on the clip so I saw it every time I looked at my reports. I don’t know how I got thru the days and quite frankly, didn’t want to. But I had a son who needed me, and a Savior who loves me and I needed to fight to stay. And I did with the help of this Scripture that I saw every day for the next 6 working years.
The second verse would be Psalm 46:10. Both of which literally helped save my life.
One of my favorites is Lamentations 3:22-23 because it reminds me whatever I’m going through won’t consume me and that God is faithful and compassionate with new mercies every morning.
11 Lord, I know you will never stop being merciful to me. Your love and loyalty will always keep me safe. (Psalm 40:11 GNTD)

To often I have to remind myself why I am I working so hard? Who am I trying to impress? What am I striving for at work? That next bonus? That next incentive? I need to remind myself that I need to focus on God and be happy and follow his ways.

Goodness, how do you choose just one? Maybe Matthew 28:19, it was a powerful command given to us. Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them… Maybe I CAN do that. If we all can reach even just one person, how much wider can the gate be? ☺️

I love the faithfulness of God in this verse. I love that when we can’t show up for ourselves, and when we are feeling defeated in our faith, He doesn’t give up on us on what He’s promised.

When dealing with anxiety and growing from a teenager to a young adult this verse has really helped me. With so many changes happening in life it’s hard for me not to be fearful but this verse helps me remember that I don’t need to be and that with God I can be strong too.
John 15:15 is one of my favorite verses: “I do not call you servants anymore, because a servant doesn’t know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have heard from my Father.”
It never ceases to amaze me how God chooses to reveal Himself to us and confide in us. He owes no one any explanation for anything He does yet He patiently goes over The Plan with us time and time again. Thank You, Father, for explaining everything in advance. Help me to trust You to bring it all to pass in Your perfect timing. Amen.

My favorite verse right now is Be still and Know. Life is busy and often fast paced. God wants us to slow down, read the Word and meditate on it. Be present with our family and friends.
One of my favorite verses is Ephesians 4:29,” No foul language is to come from your mouth, but only what is good for building up someone in need, so that it gives grace to those who hear.” This verse guides me daily as I work with young people. It also is a great reminder to resist the temptation to gossip and complain.

It is hard to choose one verse but one that comes to mind and upon which I hold tight is Psalm 119:68 “You (GOD) are good and do good…” No matter how bad life gets God can be trusted to be good and do good.

It has a few meanings for me- 1, I don’t need to worry about the fact that I don’t get everything or know everything, bc My God does and His plans for me are perfect.
But it’s true meaning if you read the context of the chapter is how we receive wisdom through the Holy Spirit once we become Christians. A wisdom man can’t explain nor understand, yet a wisdom that brings to us an understanding and a new ability to be able to share His word and Gospel with those around us.
Like when we give advice, or share the gospel with a stranger or just how we can talk to our children to help them understand- yet we don’t know how these words even graced our lips bc the knowledge there is far beyond what we’d ever think ourselves to be able to do… that’s the Holy Spirit speaking through us, The Helper, God gave us to fulfill all the plans He has! ❤️

My current favorite verse is Proverbs 17:17 a friend loves at all times and a brother is born for a time of adversity. This has really spoken to my heart as our family is in the thick of adversity and also expecting. Holding onto this verse helps me in knowimg that Gods got this and everything is gonna be alright.

My verse is Zephaniah 3.17. “The LORD your God is in your midst the Mighty One will save. He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love. He will rejoice over you with singing.” I love to think of Him delighting in me, especially when I’m not feeling delightful!

This verse resonates with me because I am an anxious individual by nature. And at times I find myself busy looking for solutions to problems, and answers to questions that don’t need to be answered. It is in these moments I am reminded that the battle is not mine, but HIS! He commands me to be still and recognize that He has a plan and it is MUCH GREATER than anything I could ever imagine.

This verse means so much to my husband and me as it popped up in many different places when we were going through the process to become foster parents and then the adoption process with our oldest two children. It was a long and tough road but we know God called us to it and this verse encouraged us so many times and still served as a great reminder today of God’s faithfulness to us. It’s all about trusting Him and knowing that His timing is perfect!
To be honest I can’t choose a favorite yet as I am currently reading through the entire Bible for the first time. God’s has changed my life! I’m grateful to be in this journey!

I’ve been working my way through the New Testament again, and so many verses stand out and take new meanings for me than they did when I was younger.
My favorite and what I am clinging to right now is Romans 8:37-39.
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[k] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
My favorite bible verse is “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Phil. 4:13. This is my favorite verse because it is one of the many that my grandma would recite to me as I was growing up. She raised me with a deep faith & whenever I faced hardships in my life I always recalled that verse & it gave me strength that I could get through anything with God by my side. I also passed this scripture along to my oldest son & it is his favorite verse now, too.

My absolute favorite scripture in the entire Bible is Hebrews 12:1-2 because it’s such a beautiful and powerful reminder encouraging us to keep on pressing into the things of God with joy because of the joy set before him in endurance! Such a good reminder to keep on GOING and never quit!

This verse brings me to praise God daily, it gives me hope and reminds me that God is on the throne and reigns no matter the circumstances in my life. When my struggles and concerns scare me to believe the lies, all I have to do is compare those struggles to the mighty love and works of my God and I’m reminded of His faithfulness.
I have looked to the mountains, pondered the mystery of all the ways of His love for me, rested in his comfort in times of trouble and I have known the restoration that comes only from Him. I love Jesus and I’m so glad He chose me.

This verse has helped me to remember to stay faithful. No matter what circumstances in life come my way— God will carry me through them. My husband was in ministry for 8 years. God called him away from the position he was in. When God didn’t open another ministry door.. or any job door, we ended up moving back home.. moving our family of 5 in with my parents. Immediately, he got a job at a large manufacturing company. We were able to move into our own place. Just days later, my father in law was hospitalized. We didn’t know at the time that he would no longer be with us after a month. All of that to say, we have had many painful things happen over the past few years. My faith has been stretched and pulled in ways I never expected.. and honestly never wanted. But, God has shown himself to be so faithful even in the hard. If my husband hadn’t followed God’s leading and left his position, we wouldn’t have been by his dad’s side while he left this earth. I wouldn’t have been able to sit and hold my mom as she wept over losing her mother. Things haven’t been easy. Even in the pain, He has worked it all out and HE gets the glory!

God has really been using the verse Isaiah 43:19 to speak to me in this season.
Be alert, be present! I’m about to do something brand new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the Badlands.
Im walking through a season that looks a bit different than previous Seasons sort of like a step up from the previous season I was in. In some cases very great because I know God is teaching me new things and in other cases it’s very intimidating because God is teaching me new things so when I hear this verse it helps me to focus and know that God is doing something new and that is a good thing.

God have me this verse when I was really struggling with a situation and asking for guidance. It has been powerful to me ever since.

I go back to this verse in my mind all the time. So much that happens in life just doesn’t make sense to me. When I try to deal with things in my own understanding I feel anxious but when I remember that I don’t need to understand, that God is in control and working out the bigger picture I can rest at ease. I often look back later and see how God’s had was in it all along.
Just to choose a few, I’d say Romans 8:28, Philippians 4:4 and 4:13 have gotten me through some pretty hard years ever since I was just a little girl. I remember learning these verses by heart when I was 4 and time after time again being so grateful and blessed that I had. These and also a few other ones were like a ray of hope at various times. I’m 26 now and when I look back at my life, I couldn’t be more certain that God’s word was the beacon of light that guided me through.
So many of the wonderful encouraging verses already mentioned here, but Hebrews 12:2
“Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
When all else fails and we are heartbroken, there is only one person to turn to for inspiration, consolation and love.

Much like you stated above, it’s my greatest desire to please God. These are my current favorite verses because they are a beautiful reminder that all I need is faith to do just that. Nothing more, nothing less.

Jeremiah 29:11 has always been my favorite piece of the scripture because when in difficult times it times when things don’t go as would like God reminds me that it’s not his will for me because he has something better according to my needs and his perfect plan. I’ve come back again and again to this verse during hard seasons just to get comfort and hope from the Lord.

My favorite (right now) verse is Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
I have this printed on an old window hanging in the stairway of my home, and it gives me peace as I head downstairs and out to start the day!

I think that our stories can be that witness to all God has done in this fallen world and bring hope…so I love this verse for that reason!

I love this verse because it reminds me of how vast, how wide, how deep Christ’s love is for me. He loved us so much that he took our place on the cross, giving us eternal life if we ask him in our heart.
I love Lam 3:22-24 “Because of the Lords faithful love we do not perish, for His mercies never end. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness! I say the Lord is my portion, therefore I will put my hope in Him.” And the Psalm that says “This is the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it”. Without His mercies and grace from the beginning of my faith walk to my everyday walk now I would be a goner. He is faithful when I’m not. He doesn’t give me what I deserve. He has given me great gifts and I have every reason even in midst of really tough life stuff to praise Him upon waking every morning. Thank you Jesus.
There are so many verses that have spoken comfort and courage and hope throughout my 61 years and in particular seasons of life so it is a joyful challenge to choose just one. However, Psalm 73:25-26 is a forever and always verse:
Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.

This was a daily reminder as I battle cancer that worrying is wasting energy. God is in control.
I am in an intimate relationship with the Lord my God and have grown to know Him over many years. He is the great I AM for me. My favorite verse as I struggle through this Extremely terrifying trial in my life right now is from Psalm 25:4-5 “Show me your ways Lord, teach me your paths, Guide me in your truths and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.”
My favorite bible verse is Colossians 3:12 because it encourages me in both my personal and my work (nurse) life to live a life that exudes such qualities: patience, meekness, compassion.
Beautiful bible! One of my favorite verses in the bible is “a cord of three strands is not easily broken” Ecclesiastes 4:12 It’s a reminder to me how important it is to have Jesus and fellowship with other believers to encourage us in our walk with Christ. It’s also the scripture my husband and I hung in our home after we went through difficult time. We felt alone and in with that realized important it is to have support and give support. God is so good!
One of my favorite versus ( who can pick just one?! ) is Isaiah 30:21 NLT “Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left. ” Direction is something I need most and look to the Word to find.
Colossians 2:7 is one of my favorites: “Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” I’ve always loved the image of tree roots growing continually stronger with God as the foundation, soil and water, that allows the tree above to flourish.
Isaiah 26:3 – You keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. My anxiety has been through the roof lately, and I love this promise from God that I CAN have perfect peace if trust is in Him alone. Thank you, Jesus!!
John 11:35 Jesus Wept! For me I personally love this verse and as an abuse survivor and now as going they divorce with husband leaving me for another woman that he has been secretly seeing for over a year and woman that has ended at least one of his other marriages before me. He has left me with 3 year old special needs child and 1 year old. So yes it’s broken me in some ways. Yet I always take comfort in John 11:35 because I know Jesus felt sadness and that I too can weep and still know that even in this broken world God is still good. He still loves us. He is still there even in midst of the hurt and often feel he cries with us thru the hurt.

Heading into a new school year, at a new school, knowing no one left a lot for him to process (and myself). Remembering the truth that god did not give us a spirit of fear but of power, love & sound mind are what we both need on repeat all the time.

Worry is my biggest struggle in life. This is my favorite verse because it tells me exactly how to combat the devil when he tries to big my mind down with worry.

My verse is Jeremiah 29:11. It gives me peace in time of change.
Hi, Matthew 6:33 was always my favorite verse…seeking Him first…got me through my late husband’s suicide and the reasons behind it. But after a very unexpected breast cancer diagnosis on June 19 of this year…God gave me Isaiah 43:2 in the form of a Cursillo song Fear Not… as I was mowing (how I like to deal with stress and decompress) this song started playing in my head. Then it hit me…He’s telling me He’s got me and everything is going to be fine. And it was! He reinforced it with Kari Jobe’s I Am Not Alone which also encompasses Isaiah 43:2. My surgeon played it for me to fall asleep to and the surgical staff prayed over me. God was true to His word. Cancer free! Every specific prayer was answered. I know He’s going to carry my safely through my reconstruction surgeries also. He’s given me a new testimony and has shown His hands throughout the entire journey. I have no fear because He is with me. He called me by name. The water and floods will not overtake me and the fire will not consume me because He is carrying me through it all and holding me by His mighty right hand!!!

I struggle with anxiety and I repeat this verse constantly to myself when I need the reminder. It helps me overcome my anxiety and fears when they show up.
One of my favorite verses from the Bible is Psalm 40:1-10. I was saved almost 3 years ago when I found myself 8 months pregnant and with my marriage and life as I knew it collapsing. Laying on the bathroom floor I found myself in the darkest moments of my life. All the horrible things I had done were bombarding my thoughts and satan was luring me to him, trying to convince me to give up. But it was in that pit that I had my encounter with the Lord. God met me in the middle of my mess. He pulled me from the pit and saved me. This psalm speaks to my heart like no other. My life was changed by Him in an instant. He put a new song in my heart and I have since been devoting my life to writing and speaking of Him, His amazing works, and His unfailing love.
“I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him. Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods. Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. My favorite passage is Psalms 46:10 – Be still and know that I am God….In April 2016 I was in a near fatal accident. After fighting for my life and going through months of physical, occupational and speech therapy to learn how to walk, talk and eat again, I was able to return to my home and eventually back to work. As much as I pushed myself during my recovery and felt like things weren’t progressing as fast as I would’ve liked, repeating this passage over and over again kept me reminded that I was not in control, it was all God. When I would let go and let God, I was so at peace in allowing Him to be in control. I still look to this passage to help me breathe and let go.
Romans 4:17 – the latter part of the verse says, “God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;”

My favorite verse/life verse is James 1:2-3…Consider it pure joy my brothers when you face trials… Losing my dad to cancer led me to this verse, and I have clung to it. I had to keep going after his death, but through this saw all of God’s miracles through his illness and death that I wouldn’t have seen if I gave up. ♥️

As my husband and I are currently struggling with infertility, I have learned that this is my waiting period in life. God has showed me many things that come by waiting. He has not failed me, and his words have always been true. So I know in his divine time, our miracle will come.

This means a lot to me as I’ve fought Thyroid Cancer, Breast Cancer, then was on a ventilator and in a coma for two weeks and in the hospital a total of three weeks. When I left the hospital I could not even walk. I’m having to learn it alL over again. It’s like I talk two steps forward and three large ones back. This reminds me to stay focused on him and He will heal me as much as He thinks I need when He thinks I need it.

I can not pick A verse right now but I can share how the Lord has ministered to me through his word. I recently lost my sister-in-law to a massive stroke. Like most deaths, it happened unexpectedly and those of us left behind are both questioning God “why” but are also seeing the blessings of what looks like an untimely death.
2 Cor. 4:18 has been a truth for me to hold on to in my time of grieving: “…while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

Jeremiah 29:13. I love 29:11, but verse 13 is like the payoff to me. When we seek Him with all our hearts He will be found!! He does have a great plan, but it’s not a hidden plan, it’s one He wants to reveal and/or be with us while we wait! ❤️❤️

I am trying to be better and wanting to understand the word of God more now than ever and keep reading and trying to educate myself so I have a better understanding also.

It’s sooo hard to choose a favorite verse when the Bible just speaks to me in a million different ways! GOD IS GOOD!!! HE IS ALIVE!!! So my favorite verse would probably be. “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6. There had been many times in my life where friend said would leave me and talk bad about me. But God will never! And He loves me even when I fail him every day with all my sins and fleshy acts. I love JESUS CHRIST! And I can’t wait to see what He has in store for me!

For me, one of my favorite passages in the bible has to be 1 Peter 1:6-9 which says, “6 You rejoice in this, though now for a short time you have had to struggle in various trials 7 so that the genuineness of your faith—more valuable than gold, which perishes though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 8 You love Him, though you have not seen Him. And though not seeing Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 because you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” I love this passage because it serves as a great reminder to keep persevering. As Christians, we have been promised that we are going to have persecution and testing of our faith, but that shouldn’t scare us from continuing to pursue Christ. He has declared us His own, and there is nothing that will change that. And if we know that we belong to Him, then we can rest in the fact that all of this pain and suffering will one day cease to exist, and we will get to spend eternity worshiping with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ inthe presence of our Heavenly Father.
Thank you for your open heart to us! I have been in the family of God through His Son, Jesus, since 1986. The scriptures has sustained me and brought me wisdom to live daily with His endless love and mercy and most of all His grace. In that, I am sufficient. Some days are harder than others but I remember this scripture in Ecclesiastes. We are not promised a life without hard times as they (the hard times) help us to grow and depend on Him.

Insecurity and feeling unloved and unimportant has been an unfortunate common theme in my life. I cling to this verse, especially in the face of rejection, whether real or perceived. I need to bask, bake and be saturated in this truth because i make so many mistakes and in earthly perspective, there’s a lot of reasons to fault myself and blame myself for unfifulled dreams, but His love for me, messy moody manic me, is CONSTANT and I am so grateful. When I am overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
In the Bible there are Multiple passages and stories that talk about the faithfulness of God and how he can be trusted with our anxieties and our fears. But this verse is a simple reminder to me that I can rely on the rock that is bigger than my problem, then my regret, then my mistakes. And I remind myself to come to His feet and stay close to his side when I am overwhelmed with things I don’t understand.
“Mankind, he has told each of you what is good and what it is the Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God.”

I love this verse as it’s great reminder on how to live. I have the second part memorised for this reason.
It simply reminds us to do what is right with kindness, to be merciful to others in a loving and faithful way and that God is in control. “Walk humbly with your God” also reminds me that God is always walking with us and never leaves, even when we mace have gone astray. And that our God is powerful, righteous and over all a loving God and we should boast in Him.

This gives me hope that those things I thought were once dead will/can come back to life in Jesus’ name. God can do everything He has promised though it looks impossible for us.

When things are at there worst. When my fear and anxiety can not be contained. When I feel like my whole life is out of control. This verse brings me comfort.
Romans 5:8: “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners Christ died for us.” Not after I did anything, not after I cleaned myself up, not after I even asked His forgiveness. But while I was still a sinner. Knowing the sinner I would be, He still died for me.
My favorite Bible verse is James 4:8 “Come close to God, and God will come close to you.” It reminds me that when I don’t feel close to God it isn’t that He is far away, it is that I am not trying to come close to Him and be with Him each day.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not tremble or be dismayed for the Lord your God goes with you wherever you go.”
I love this verse because it’s the first verse that I ever felt really speak to me, like God was highlighting this verse while I read it and bringing my attention to it. It’s also a message that I really need as I have been suffering with high anxiety the last year or so.
Jeremiah 29:11, God has a specific plan just for me. That brings me so much comfort.
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.

This scripture is a hopeful reminder to me about God’s sincerity at seeing our hearts and not the masks we try and put on for people. He sees above what human eyes can see.

My favorite verse from the Bible is Joshua 1:9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” This is my favorite verse because it reminds me that God is in control and will help me get through every situation I’m in: whether good or bad. I don’t have to live in fear. Instead I can live in God’s peace and mercy, knowing that He will be with me every step of the way. It’s easier said then done, but I can rest easy, knowing that God has a hand in my life and will never leave me, especially when I need Him the most.

My favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” This has always been a lifeline knowing that God loves me and his plans are always good and better than my own. His plan is not over and I hold onto that through the bad times AND good times.
Romans 8:28. 2015 was a really rough year. My husband faded from the God fearing man I married and tuned into a self serving alcoholic. I prayed and prayed for him and our relationship and that our family would be restored (We had two small kids) I was working full time and raising our kids alone. He was literally spending all our money on alcohol. I racked up a lot of debt just to keep the roof over our heads and food in our bellies. After 8 months I literally saw no way out and didn’t think God heard my prayers or if He did he just care. I lost my faith. At 10 months and a week before my birthday my husband was unfaithful. 13 months in God changed my husbands heart, his eyes were opened to how sinful he had become and he repented. God worked hard on him and he eventually led me back to Jesus too. Three years later and our financial situation is back to the way it was before, our relationship is better than it ever was and most importantly both of our relationships with God are better. I have a deeper faith. Romans 8:28 got me through the hardest of hard times and helped me to find the good of the situation. Now I honestly wouldn’t trade that tough time for anything. I know it was a fire that was refining us both and we came out better on the other side.

Each day begins anew and every day we have to fight for and fight with our faith and His Word. We have to choose obedience over convenience, choose conviction over comfort, and choose our faith over popularity. We must live out every day by bringing ourselves to the Word Before The World. I was bullied a lot in school. This verse helped me with showing them grace and not try to get back at all the bullies who targeted me. Blessed those who cursed me, and prayed for those who mistreated me. I prayed that God would help them get through, whatever it was they were going through that made them want to hurt someone else because they were unhappy and that they would find God and gain peace and hope and faith, that whatever they’re going through God’s got them and is right there for them to lean on. I’m now 17, and have homeschooled for the last 2 year and still pray for them.

This verse lead me to ask God for understanding of why I was the one people chose to bully and to knowledge that God had a plan. I took one of my bully’s to church with me. Although we don’t talk, I follow her on Facebook and instagram and she goes to church a lot. God has a plan. He had the plan for me to take one of my bully’s to church to let them know Christ.

Psalm 118:24 is one of my favorites. This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. Life is not always easy and we are not in control. We can choose God’s grace and joy and try to rejoice and share his love regardless of our situation, or we can spiral into despair. Choose Jesus. I remind myself he did not die on the cross for me to live less than a joyful life through him.

My favorite Bible verse has to hands down be Romans 8:18.
I have so much peace in knowing that the pain/season that I am in does not determine the future glory that God is going to grant me. There is nothing too dark that God cannot save me from.
Last year being my first year in college, I felt very alone, very anxious, very hopeless. But even so God showed me His faithfulness.
In my weakest moment I was able to be comforted by His perfect love.
That is why Romans 8:18 is my favorite verse in the Bible.
It got me through a rough time and will continue to be a reminder of how good my God is.

I love these verses right now. I have verses 7 & 8 posted on my windowsill in my kitchen so I can see it often. I’m the mother of a three year old and a one and a half year old. Becoming a mother has brought out some emotions that I didn’t know I had in me-one of those being anxiety. I’m so thankful I have the promise of peace. The kind of Peace that only Jesus can give.

My favorite verse right now, is Esther 4:14. I have recently started a new ministry to single, pregnant women, and before it started I found myself questioning why me. This verse is what kept coming to mind. It was God’s way of saying “if not you, then who.”

I love this passage because it talks about the importance of lifting up others in prayer in so many ways and giving thanks to God.

I majorly struggled with anxiety and doubt, and about 2 years ago I shared a post on Instagram explaining my doubts and frustrations with the Lord. A day later a friend sent me this Bible verse and it’s stuck with me since then. I’m so thankful to know that even when I don’t know what future holds, God KNOWS His plans for me. All I have to do is read this verse and then I’ll be calm with the assurance that my life is in the hands of someone greater than us all.
Hosea 1:5b–Watch and be asounded at what I will do! For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t believe even if someone told you about it.
Lamentations 3:20, 21 – I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. Yet, I dare to hope when I remember this: the unfailing love of the Lord never ends!
Both of these verses we have clinged to since the passing of my 9 day old grandson.

I love this verse because I’ve gone through a lot of changes in the past year with moving across the country to another state. Having to start completely over has been difficult and not having any friends around has been tough as well. I’ve been clinging on to the Lord more than ever and even though I feel alone and isolated I know I’m never truly alone because God is always with me.

Everyone has a story and we all go through difficult times but one thing is for sure… God provides us the strength to continue walking this journey. We know He has saved us and He wins the battle.
Jeremiah 29:11 “for I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper and not to harm you” this is my favorite verse because I was a single teenage mom that felt trapped in guilt and shame and unworthy of love with the added obstacles that came with being a single teen mother to better myself with limited time, money and resources like my other friends seemed to have the advantage of. After many sleepless and hopeless nights I found this verse and chose to cling to it, to focus on it and fight all the negative thoughts that came from my situation. Jesus brought me through with the promise of this verse. 11 years later and I have a husband who loves me and the Lord and my son, I’ve had a career and now a chance to be a a stay at home mom, and Jesus continues to provide… with hope and plans for the future.

My favorite scripture is Psalm 68:5, “Father of the fatherless and protector of the widows is God in his holy habitation”. This is the scripture that reminds me that even though my dad isn’t with me, my father is.
One of my favorite verses is Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God”. For years, I’ve been controlling my life, my kids… I thought my life will turn into what I have pictured it would be. Until, there’s something happened which made me hit rock bottom. I was hurt and full of pain but also was humbled. God allowed something for me to realize that He is in control. And with this, I have nothing to fear and I just have to be still.

This is my favorite because I know no matter what I do, where I go, the Lord is with me. He’s got me and he’s not letting go.

We met at a women’s conference in Florida several years ago. I have been encouraged by your progress/adventures since then –> Through it all you have become stronger and more vocal about your identity in God.
The following Bible verses have carried me through so many events in my life. They remind me of God’s plan AND put my focus back on track with what to do to find HIM when I feel lost Jeremiah 29:11-13 NIV. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”. These promises have carried me through 20+ years of marriage, infertility issues, emergency surgeries, premature birth, husband’s many years of deployments into war, his retirement and disability, family health issues, many deaths in the family, financial issues, raising teenagers, spiritual warfare, chronic intractable migraines, personal health issues, personal ministry opportunities, etc etc etc. God is good and faithful.
My favorite verse is 1 Corinthians 13. I think this verse is so special because it teaches us about the different ways we can show love to anyone.

I love the reminder that He sees and loves us. That even when things are at the lowest and we are crushed He is there to lift us up.

He had sent them into exile for their disobedience, but assured them that He would bring them back at His appointed time. God is faithful, even when we aren’t! And although He disciplines us God works things out for our good in the long run.

I love it explains not just salvation, but to live a holy life, to come into the truth, and that men will like the darkness, we like our sin/love our sin sometimes, but we have to come to the truth, and change our actions with Gods help. God will make us new, with his power and help us to turn from our sin.

I want this to be my prayer every day, that whatever I say and whatever I think about is pleasing to God. When I struggle with negative thoughts, I try to recite this verse in my mind to remind myself to turn that negativity into positivity because with Christ nothing is impossible, and I can do all things through Him who strengthens me!

I love how is refers to the struggle of sin and the requirement to live a holy life. It’s not just NT, but spoken from Jesus, so their is no question as to its validity. (Even though I believe the entire Bible is truth, and should be obeyed, some try to argue differently.) Also it speaks to our desire for sin to be in our life, but the requirement to live a holy life. Not only will he forgive our sin, and we can live however we choose, but we should bring our sin to the truth and have God help up turn from it.
