  1. It’s certainly true that Gods path and plan for our life is above anything we can imagine. He is utterly amazing and I feel so lucky to go to him in prayer when things are going right but I’m scared, when things may not go to plan whatever the issue, he is still there. The biggest point is He is always there with open loving arms more so than any human who can comfort us, provide and is a constant support. His power really is so huge my little brain cannot process the gravity of it’s expanse so there is no way God can fit into the boxes we create.

    • How true! My little brain often struggles to process the gravity of his power as well. What a blessing that faith steps in when our intellect fails us.

  2. Thank you for this. I love organization and order in general, and it just throws off my day when something unexpected happens, but I’m learning to embrace God’s surprises.

    • You’re welcome, Courtney. It’s hard in the moment, but I try to remind myself how many of God’s surprises have ended up being some of the greatest blessings ever!

  3. I love this: “His provisions are more abundant than our most pressing needs. His blessings are greater than our most active imaginations. His goals are loftier than our most ambitious intentions.”
God has ALWAYS met my needs. Currently praying for His exceedingly abundantly more than I think or imagine. I trust that His plan is much better and brighter than mine. I’m always amazed at where God has brought me from where I began. Thank you for these words that encouraged and reminded me that God will come through with blessings greater than my imagination.

    • You’re welcome, Corey. Praying alongside you. I’m always amazed at how he meets and exceeds my imagination – because my imagination can be awfully active at times! 🙂

  4. As a librarian, I so understand the attraction to “organizing” the chaos. The profession attracts all kinds of pesonalities, introverts, extroverts and everything in between but I firmly believe we all share this one trait But God doesn’t just organize into little boxes, He creates out of nothing and His surprises shape and mold in ways we can’t imagine.

    • Yes they do! And I’m sure if we could see everything from his perspective, we’d realize that it’s all organized more perfectly than we could ever know. (And p.s. – I love librarians. I feel as if I should give you a virtual hug and say, “Thank you for your service!” 🙂 )

  5. Emily, I love how God is so gracious to reveal more of Himself (and how we related to Him) in unexpected ways…even through a love for a card catalog. (Which, by the way, sounds gorgeous and something I’d squeal in delight about too!) I’m so encouraged by your perspective. It’s a joy to share your words here on (in)courage! xx
