Made to be Light in a Dark World

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt should lose its taste, how can it be made salty? It’s no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.

You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:13-16 (CSB)

When we believe in the gospel of Jesus and it shapes and forms us, our countenance changes, our lives are transformed. It is visible in the smallest of things — attitude shifts, perspective changes — and in the biggest of things — career choices, financial decisions, relationship investments. Our words, our actions, our values are impacted by the way Jesus lived this life on earth; we can’t help but be changed by Him.

Like stars in the darkest of night skies, we can shine in a world that seems to be filled with more darkness than light these days. And with our light, may we bring hope and life to those around us.

Our words, our actions, our values are impacted by the way Jesus lived this life on earth; we can't help but be changed by Him. #saltoftheearth #lightoftheworld: Click To Tweet Leave a Comment
