  1. Becky,
First, you are doing an awesome job as Coordinator of (in)courage – no easy job I would imagine. I love your passion about God’s “With-ness”. I just received some not so great health news and scriptures started flooding into my mind about how God will be there to go with me through this. He never leaves nor forsakes. He will give me strength and uphold me with His righteous right hand. I love that scripture is filled with stories of God’s love for His people and share your love of telling the world about Christ….one person at a time. Congrats’ on you new book coming out and I look forward to your video this weekend.

I know you’ve been on a hard journey and you seem like you are everywhere to me. The way you led Jennifer Dukes Lee’s book launch was truly inspiring (just one of the many projects you undertake). I am sharing with you in listening to God’s mandate to REST. In fact that is my word for this year. We all are so busy burning the candle at both ends that we forget the sacredness in observing a Sabbath-like rest. If God didn’t do it all in a day, what makes us think that we can?? Lifting you up in this time of pulling back for restoration, refreshment, and a new love of the Lord. Subject I’d like to hear more on….giving up the people pleaser in me. I also appreciate that several writers have tackled mental illness which 1 in 4 people suffer from.

Thanks ladies for all that you do!! Thank you for making this space such a welcome and cozy corner of cyberspace!!
    Bev xx

    • Bev, I’m sad that you have again received unwelcome health news. Lifting you in prayer this minute. Even though we’ve never met, through this community I feel like I know and love your heart. I pray for you often.

    • Sweet Bev,
Thank you for your kind words. God has given you a special gift of encouragement as a resonator. You hear others well and are able to enter into both their joy and sorrow. I love that about you! I’m so sorry for your continued health struggles. That is so hard. Praying that you indeed experience God’s fierce with-ness, as well as His gifts of rest and restoration.
      Much love to you,

    • As always, your comment makes me smile! You are so faithful to show up here and kindly write words of encouragement. It is noticed and appreciated, Bev. Thank you for that feedback, too, on what you’d like to read more on. xo

  2. Perhaps incourage could spotlight women who have overcome great loss e.g. death of a child, a loved one in jail, a special friend lost to cancer

These may have been covered before??

  3. Books at the dinner table? YES HELLO. And I have a kiddo (age 10) who does that too. Last night she and I went on a mommy-daughter date to Barnes & Noble, used a gift card, bought new books and then each got a hot chocolate at their in-store cafe, curled up into chairs and read together. ALL THE BOOKS PLEASE.

  4. Becky,

May God bless the writing of your book. I pray your speech goes well at momcon. I loved this: “Our job is to train our eyes to see and our hearts to respond to His presence.” Yes. Lysa Terkeurst focused on that in her book It’s Not Supposed to be This Way. She mentioned that the evil one turns our eyes toward worldly stuff & makes it look attractive. He tells us we’re missing out & God isn’t giving us everything. Like you I enjoy wearing t-shirts & pants, going on hikes & just being in nature. YES & AMEN to naps!!

You and I are twins in a sense. We both love taking care of others & forgetting about ourselves. I will take a day off & cook a meal, call or do something for others while not resting or taking care of myself. Bonnie Gray has a good book out “Whispers of Rest 40 days of God’s Love to Revitalize your Soul”. It is full of ways to rest & take care of yourself. I’m from Florida also (Tampa/Brandon area). Didn’t enjoy the heat that much. We moved to TN & love the mountains & pretty snow. God made us for community. He expects us to be with/around people. Yes to meeting with friends, caring for yourself & make time for Him. Lysa Terkeurst said it best in her book “The Best Yes”. Saying yes to everyone & everything won’t make you wonder woman. It will make you a worn out woman.” Worn out women have nothing left to give to anyone. He expects us to rest. Jesus took time to rest while here on Earth, so why don’t we think we need that rest.

    Blessings 🙂

    • Such great words, Beth. Love knowing that we have some fun things in to common too. Blessed to read your comment this morning. Thanks for being a faithful part of the (in)courage community. xx
