I would have thrown my head back in nervous laughter if you had told me a year ago what I’d be doing today.
It all started last spring when God led me to have a complete hysterectomy. I knew He was using it to heal me from almost thirty years of suffering. He kept whispering to my heart that this surgery was my path to freedom. He was calling me to rise; I just didn’t know what was on the other side of walking in this newness of life.
During the same season, God gave me a Holy Spirit heads up. He had been waking me up at 5 a.m. every day to spend time with Him . . . reading the Old Testament. I knew it must have been God’s doing because I’m NOT an early riser and I’m more of a “New Testament, let’s get to Jesus and real life application” kind of girl.
During the last few years of living on our ten acres and small hobby farm, God taught me a lot about the promised land. He began to teach me how to dwell with Him in the land of milk and honey.
I thought I knew the story of Exodus, about Moses, the rescue of God’s people, and all the rest of the drama in the wilderness. I sang the song about Joshua and Jericho in VBS. I knew that God had good plans for His people, but I didn’t understand what God had spent many years, generations of His people, and the majority of the Old Testament talking about when it comes to the Promised Land.
The promised land is more important than we realize in our lives today. It’s worth studying and finding out how we, too, can live with God in our own promised land.
Each of you has a unique promised land with Him. It’s not perfect. It’s definitely not vacation. But it’s where you best worship God with your entire life. It’s where you can dwell with Jesus now.
The promised land is where heaven comes down to meet earth, where God comes to dwell in you and with you, where the reason you were created becomes clear.
God also made it clear that my new calling was “to lead His children into the promised land.” I’m still unpacking this short but powerful statement with the help of God’s Spirit, but in leaning into my new calling, I’ve started the Jesus Led Adventure podcast. On it, I share how to know your calling, believe the promises of God for your life, go through the wilderness with purpose, and experience the adventure that is your faith journey with Jesus.
It humbles me and fills me with joy that I get to do this, that I get to lead you and speak truth into your life each week as you walk through your own promised land. Here’s a little bit of what you’ll get when you subscribe to the Jesus Led Adventure podcast:
You’re not alone in this, friends. Let’s walk through our promised lands together!

Stephanie,
It never ceases to amaze me how God works. I never would have seen myself working in a hospital. After years of caring for my parents & taking some medical classes God decided that I should work there. Only God knows where our paths will lead us. He is the master craftsman shaping our lives & molding us into Christ likeness.
Loved this: The promised land is where heaven comes down to meet earth, where God comes to dwell in you and with you, where the reason you were created becomes clear. God is making it clear bit by bit why he created me. What my spiritual gift is & how best to use it. Most people don’t know their gifts or how to have God dwell in them. This podcast will be a God send to many. Like you I think I know the whole Exodus story. I’m learning quickly that there are parts I don’t fully comprehend. This podcast will be a help to understand more of that. Once we grasp those ideas & concepts we can better help others come to know Christ.
Blessings:)

Stephanie,
You are definitely up with the chickens on your farm to spend time with the Lord. I have been thoroughly soaking in my journey of reading through the Bible again and knowing what happens in the New Testament, makes all the prophecies in the Old Testament so much more miraculous. Jesus’ coming is alluded to over and over again. Also, I am amazed at how many times God forgives His people Israel. No sooner do they turn from their evil ways, they are back at it again. To me, the Old Testament is testimony to a loving, patient, long-suffering God. Looking forward to checking out your podcasts!!
Blessings,
Bev xx

Stephanie,
God amazes me all. the. time! I cannot wait to listen to your podcast, it will be very helpful to where I am in life right now today and the days ahead! I’ve subscribed and will start listening in the morning. I really like how you said we each have our own promised land and it’s when heaven comes down to earth. When God/Jesus & the Holy Spirit are with us and in us. I really get that, that was the feeling I had in Cambodia and when I got married, when I travelled and when I gave birth three times. It is how I feel as each new step is revealed to me on this journey since I said I’m ready…I want to follow your plan for my life. It doesn’t mean I don’t find some situations hard or that I’ve stopped sinning, that I don’t doubt and get angry, feel confused, not good enough etc BUT one thing I do know and I’m so grateful for is Gods repeated forgiveness and that He gives me grace over and over and still opens His arms when really I should have learnt by now. I find your post again that God is saying Hey Jas, listen to this. He’s showed up again through the blog and reached me. How wonderful is that?

Thank you for your Podcast … I too having been living on my farm for the past 13 years. I have been waiting & wandering in my desert for the past seven years….
This year, a couple of weeks ago, God open up my “ Red Sea” to go through it. All I have to do is follow him & not turn back.
Like a song says “ No turning back.” I will not turn back until I get to “ My Promised Land” that God has for me. I have a plaque in my kitchen that has helped me go through this wandering in my desert:
For I know the plans I have for you
To give a future & a hope.
