  2. Though circumstances may change, our Lord is ALWAYS good. For that, I will give thanks. Thankful for this place where we can freely share, the wonderful friends and sisters I’ve met here, and for God’s presence in our lives each and every day.
    Thanksgiving Blessings Y’all,
Your sister, Bev, in the South xo

    • Bev,

  4. Missing my family today, whom I had to leave when God called me to the other side of the world to serve, while everyone else gets to be comfortable around the dinner table with theirs 🙁

    • Jadie, thank God for you, and your willingness to follow His leading across the world, to bring His Good News to those desperately in need of salvation – even though they may not initially understand that or receive it.
As a retired Army soldier, I remember the many days of separation from my family, and know a little of what a challenge this is for you, especially today. People offer what encouragement they can, saying such comments as “hang on to the Lord”, and “He’s closer than a brother,” and those are absolutely true BUT… I know that you may just be wanting a smile, a hug, a friendly face, that physically shows you God’s faithful love and compassion in person.
Honestly, He may or may not bless you today with any of those. That’s when we have to hold strongly to His Words: He IS with us and He WILL NOT EVER forsake us. We (each one of us) have to reach out only to Him and trust that He’ll bring us through every challenge. He wants us to only rely on Him, and then He often blesses us by bringing others alongside, to refurbish the area(s) where we may be failing or in need of repair and/or bolstering up, or just encouraging us to keep on keeping on.
[ From Eugene H. Peterson’s “A Year With Jesus” daily devotional: “For Your uninterrupted mercy, O God, for the constant surveillance of Your provident eye, for the steady assistance of Your strong arm, for the persistent invitational knocking at the door of my life, for these I give thanks. Amen. ]
Sincerely, with hugs and much love in Christ,
      Diane

    • Jadie,

Thank you for following God’s Will & going across the world to spread the gospel. I understand missing family. It is hard to see so many happy people with their friends & family enjoying a nice meal when you don’t get to do that. Praying you find some friends over there to spend a little time with & enjoy a small meal. You are doing a great work for the Lord. You will definitely get repaid in the end. May God send a nice smile or hug your way to help brighten your day!

      Blessings 🙂

  5. Although Thanksgiving was in October, here in Canada, I’d like to wish you all the best for a Happy Thanksgiving. I am so grateful for all of you in this community.
    Blessings to you all,
    Penny

  6. In Courage,

The holidays can be hard on people. The military, singles, widows, widowers, etc. Some even have to work on holidays-like my hubby. Praying God will send people for everyone to spend time with on the holidays. Last year both my in-laws were in hospital-separate ones at that. Their preacher & his wife went over to be with them so they wouldn’t be alone. This year however we were blessed to have the whole clan here for Thanksgiving. It was good to see nephews & great nephews. This may very well be the last time we get to do this. MIL will be 84 in February & she is in fair condition. FIL had stage III bladder cancer surgery earlier this year & is also dealing with prostate cancer at 90. They enjoyed seeing grand children & great grandchildren. We all had a super time. I pray you all had a good time with family & friends.

    Blessings 🙂

    • So very happy that you were with your wonderful family this year. Hold them near and dear! Our Lord gives us such wonderful blessings! It has been many years now since I have had family at the table! However, I have great memories that I sit back and count all those many, many blessings! God has been so very good to me and even though now, I get lonely, I just cling to Him! He is my strength!
To those in the military or on mission in other countries, I am sure it gets especially hard on the holidays, but, folks, just cling to Him, who has you in His hand and He will see you through! We all are so proud of you and without you, we would not have the privilege of sitting down and enjoying the freedoms that we have! Praying for you always! Thankful you do what you are willing to do.
Love to all my sisters here at incourage, without y’all, it would be a very lonely place ❤️! Hope you all had a blessed day
