Last week we told you our big news — that our beloved (in) real life event is coming back this year, better than ever and with a seat saved for each one of you! October 14 is the big day, the day we’ll gather in Nashville, Tennessee and across the globe to connect and share and learn about lasting friendships. It is the day we’ll hold a live and simulcasted event called (in) real life FRIENDED. (If you can’t tell, we’re more than a little excited about this.)

Honestly, we can’t wait for (in) real life FRIENDED!

We’ve heard from a number of you who have never been to an (in) real life event and you’re wondering: Just what is this all about? If I sign up for this, what am I getting myself into? Well, we thought the best way to explain would be to give you a sneak peek (which is really a look back) at our (in) real life event in 2013.

Four years ago, in homes and churches and coffee shops around the world, we gathered in groups to listen to speakers and, together, to tackle the subject of community and The Challenge to Stay. The idea of staying resonates with us still, especially as we approached this year’s theme of friendship. Because, really, isn’t that what friendship is? Friendship is being — and staying — in community with others.

Sometimes though, that’s easier said than done. It’s not always easy to keep our friendships going. Sometimes, staying is hard.

It’s hard to stay in friendship when you’ve been hurt.
It’s hard to stay in friendship through sickness, loss, and sadness.
It’s hard to stay in friendship through life’s transitions.
It’s hard to stay when life is busy or when you don’t have time.
It’s even hard when you know staying is the right thing to do, but you just don’t want to.

This video session from (in)RL 2013 will walk you through all of these situations while at the same time giving you a great idea of what attending an (in) real life event is all about! And, if you want to go deeper, you can download the printable from this session that also includes study and reflection questions to walk through on your own or with a few friends.

If this sounds like something you want to dig into with other women who long for meaningful friendships that last, then (in) real life FRIENDED is for you!

If you’re ready to join in the fun and be a part of this year’s (in) real life FRIENDED event, you can get signed up today! Tickets are available for the live event in Nashville OR you can register to host and/or attend a simulcast event in your area. You can even just sign up to watch in your PJs at home.

However you choose to be a part of (in) real life is fine with us. We just hope that you decide to be a part of it!

We need YOU! We have saved a seat for you at the table and trust us . . . it won’t be the same without you there.
