“For everything there is a season . . . A time to plant and a time to harvest.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
Can you feel it? Whether you’re pulling out sweatshirts this weekend or still running your air conditioner at full blast, autumn is undeniably here. Kids are in school, football games are in play, and stores are full of apple and pumpkin everything.
Fall is here!
As we welcome a new season, let’s take a moment to press pause and reflect on the seasons of our lives at the same time we stop to appreciate God’s own unchanging, wonderful nature.
Finding Beauty in the Mundane by Dawn Camp
Fallen leaves crackle and crunch beneath my feet as the beauty of God’s creation is revealed anew in the change of season.
Give Thanks Pumpkin Tutorial by Jennifer Studio JRU
Autumn can be the beginning of a busy season. And a busy season may bring with it stress and worry and the whole things-aren’t-going-as-planned feeling. I think that makes autumn a perfect time to get my thinking and focus on the right track. It is the perfect time to put a little reminder out into our home for the season.
8 Tips for Getting Your Home Ready for Fall by Melissa Michaels
Even though decorating is my passion, I try not to over-complicate my decor by getting too fussy or over the top with the changes in seasons. I enjoy getting my home ready for friends, fall parties, and church groups, but I can’t spend too much time fussing over things or I won’t have much time left over for guests!

Can’t you just hear the leaves crunching and smell the cinnamon rolls?
On Claiming Calm in Our Everyday by Anna Rendell
The leaves announce that we’ve arrived firmly in fall, and I marvel because weren’t we just yesterday celebrating the last day of school, the start of summer? Where did the long, hot, sticky, sweet summertime days disappear to?
Four Ways to Make the Most of Your Season by Sarah Markley
It’s easy to recognize the fruits of the season. Pumpkins, pumpkin bread, and homemade pumpkin spice lattes dominate Pinterest right now. They are the fruits of an autumn in full swing.
5 Things to Do Now to Embrace Fall by Melissa Michaels
I like to embrace Fall as something special that happens just once a year, from September through November. The sometimes still warm-enough sunny season brings leaves in brilliant shades of orange and brown and red, nights are cool and cozy, and the smell of pumpkins and cloves and cinnamon fill my kitchen. That is a great season!
What are you reflecting on this fall?

This beautiful month of October has slipped by so quickly and yet in Dallas, Texas we are just beginning to see our signs of fall. My husband and I went to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden last Friday and enjoyed a beautiful October walk of sheer beauty. I shared some of those photos in a post this week.

Many thanks to you all for inspiring as always,
Autumn for me is a time to appreciate each changing moment. And while I may take time to rest, I’m reminded that God never does.
Here, one minute you could be enjoying the sum, the next dodging storm upon storm. The leaves are falling, but the roses are blooming new life. Then along comes the earth moving thunder rattling the house, but I’m thankful, for all that he’s created is good.
Happy day to all,
Penny

Autumn is the most colorful time of year especially in the north eastern states & the mid-west…It is time for pies to be made, applesauce, apple cider, homemade donuts, apples, grapes, pears et.et. Families often get together for Thanksgiving, when possible…. Footbball games to be cheered for and swapping of news about the past year’s good and bad…It is a time to pray together thanking God Almighty for His bountiful blessings… May God bless our country this year as many revivals have started, and many GOD fearing, believing Christians pray faithfully for our country at this most difficult time…..

Morning ladies,
I love Autumn with the smells, and beautiful colors God provides. This is my chance to thank all the beautiful writers here at In Courage. You give me inspiration and allow me to encourage other women. May God bless you all! This should be a time to hit pause and reflect. Only problem my world just got a little busier. I will still enjoy the colors on the mountains and the great smells of pumpkin bread. Praising God for ALL the good things He has given me this year!! Looking forward to Thanksgiving meals and family time!!
Blessings 🙂

Many of these sentiments were tugging at my heart also! In fact, I just posted “Harvesting Moments” and included a #chasingquiet and #pumpkinpause challenge on my blog, ordinary threads.com. I’m trying to harvest moments and encourage friends to slow down and savor the moment whenever you see a pumpkin during this season. Thanks for inspiring links! Happy fall to all!
