“My lips will glorify You because Your faithful love is better than life.”
True Love . . .
Red and pink hearts adorn the aisles of nearly every store I enter. Endless expressions of love are draped on shiny garlands everywhere. Cards and candy abound.
It’s hard to escape Valentine’s Day.
‘Tis the season of love.
But as soon as February 14th passes, the stores will quickly replace the red and pink hearts with green and gold shamrocks. How quickly the love of this world fades.
The world’s idea of love is seasonal, temporal — but God’s love is eternal.
God’s love can’t be marked on a single day on the calendar. His love transcends time and space. True love isn’t dependent on the special plans we make or the fancy gifts we bring; True love is exemplified in the plan of salvation God already made and the Gift of grace He already gave.
God’s love is the only love that will ever truly sustain us. A life without Him is a life without love. Because God is love.
So wherever you are on this 14th day of February, I pray you’ll experience His presence and know that His plans for you are good. Because He loves you. All of you.
It’s really true.
Do you have a Valentine’s Day tradition?

Oh Denise, how I love this Scripture you’ve shared and your words here. Such a beautiful and incredible truth. I felt the LORD impress exactly this truth onto my heart as I ran in the dunes yesterday: as I ran a path I’ve run so many times before, it was like I heard Him saying: “Do you see what I’ve been working in your life? Do you see how I’ve taken you through this same path again and again, so that the things that at first made you despair and feel too exhausted to move, now cause you to sing, dance and praise my Name. It’s because you’ve seen Me in action each and every time, meeting you and teaching you that not in your strength, but in your weakness, I can comfort, strengthen and pour my hope into you. And now you run your race expecting Me to show up.” Hallelujah, praise be to our AWEsome Redeemer.

Denise,
Our Valentine’s tradition goes along with your message. We rarely, if ever, go out to eat on Valentine’s Day…instead, we pick a random day and do that because, like your message pointed out, God’s love is everyday…constant. And, since we are to love like He loves us…we really try to “out love” each other every day not just one day of the year. Hearts and love to you, Denise and (in)courage friends, today and every day 🙂
Blessings,
Bev

My husband and I have only been married 22 months. We were both married before and our former spouses have passed on. We don’t have any traditions yet but we celebrate all the time anyway.
Penny says
All the best to you Mary and your husband. I hope that you have many Valentine’s Days to look forward to creating new traditions together.
Blessings to you both,
Penny

Denise,
My tradition is to send my hubby a nice e-card. Nothing fancy just my way of saying I love you!! I’ve witnessed God’s amazing love in the past few years. My aging dad had huge medical issues and yet each time God was there seeing me through these trials and healing him!!
This year I cooked a nice dinner for hubby Thursday night and made a special breakfast on Friday. I enjoy doing little things for my hubby who works hard for us so I can stay home and be available for my aging dad!
Blessings 🙂

Every day with Jesus should be sweeter than the day before, He can’t get sweeter but we can. I have some velvety Valentine boxes, and velvety roses, they make a nice centerpiece and the box will hold small gifts.

That’s sweet Rebecca,
Have a blessed day!

It’ s very comforting Denise to be reminded of His daily Love for us, thank-you.
I’m sending you all my best wishes for, Love, Joy, Peace and Comfort.
I think it’s important to act out of love daily. But for Valentine’s, it’s now more simple gestures. I also like to make heart healthy snacks & food for my family.
Best wishes to you all,
Penny
