Over the last year we’ve invited you to join us as we committed time to prayer, to learning to love one another better, and sharing friendship tips. This month we’ve shared an Advent journey on our Facebook and Instagram sites, and now we’re inviting you to join us in kicking off 2016 with a Change Challenge hosted by Girl Meets Change author Kristen Strong and (in)courage’s own Crystal Stine. Here’s an exclusive invitation from Kristen, for you:

[linebreak]

Merry Christmas to you & yours!

May I talk to you for a moment about giving yourself an early Christmas present?

You and I will soon flip our calendar pages to a fresh New Year. As we do so, many of us will meet a hard change or two in our environment, our hearts, or both. Today as we arrange greenery and wrap presents, we may distract ourselves from what is on the other side of December 31. But eventually the change or transition will catch up with us, asking us to look it in the eyes whether we want to or not.

I know a thing or two about that kind of difficult change, so well that I wrote a book on it called Girl Meets Change: Truths to Carry You through Life’s Transitions.

If the change staring at you is one you don’t want and didn’t ask for, then perhaps you could use a little encouragement to face it head on. Perhaps you would like to find a place where your anxiety about the change meets God’s sense of purpose found in it.

I would love to welcome you to just such a place.

Beginning January 11, you’re invited to join me and (in)courage for a change challenge. Over the course of 3 weeks, you and I will seek to see the change in our lives in a more hopeful, helpful light. What will this look like? On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I will quietly drop an email into your inbox with stories and steps to help you better embrace change. And on each Thursday — January 14, 21, and 28 — you’re welcome to join Crystal Stine, myself, and two guests for a video discussion where we’ll further connect over what we’re learning about thriving through the personal change in our lives. We’ll be sure to send further details about the time and location of those video chats as we get closer.

If you’d like to give your future self this gift today, sign up right here. Let me also mention that while purchasing Girl Meets Change is not a prerequisite to the change challenge, I do believe reading through the book as you participate will enrich your experience. Consider requesting it as a gift to be wrapped under the tree so you can unwrap its hopeful message next month?

We don’t have to let change give us a shaky heart and sweaty palms. And what’s more, we don’t have to walk its road alone. I look forward to meeting with you starting this January!

So much love to you, dear one,

Kristen Strong
