“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To Him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.”

I love how this verse doesn’t say “don’t have anxiety.” What is DOES say is that when you do have anxiety (and I have it a lot) that I can cast my anxiety on the Lord because He cares for me. So thankful that the battle (with anxiety and other afflictions) belongs to the Lord and that He will fight for me if I only remain still. What an awesome God we have! Happy Sunday 🙂
Blessings,
Bev

Thankful that I can cast ALL my cares, anxieties, depression, etc. on God and He will care for me!
It baffles me sometimes why God would care for me so much! Hard to fathom that He left the splendor of Heaven for us and this broken world down here! So glad He did!

I need to be patient and remember that He may lift you up in “due time”, not necessarily “my time”.My word for 2015 is wait and He knew I needed a reminder. Thank you, Lord.

I was given this scripture at a difficult time back 40 years ago. My husband (partially sighted) had been asked to provide more than he could manage for me and our two children by the faculty of our local bible college. This meant he had to leave after only completing six months of a two year course. He was devastated as he felt called to the bible college and had been “prayed-in” by the faculty! We survived, as you do with the Lord’s help, and although it took a while, he was restored in his faith and now is serving the Lord 40 years on.
