So this year I am going to stop doing this…
This year I am going to start doing this…
Sound familiar? The new year begins and along with it comes those resolutions. And how long do they really last? Weeks… maybe a couple of months? I don’t know about you, but those resolutions often lead to disappointment for me. You end up feeling like you didn’t have strong enough willpower. Like you didn’t want it bad enough or you didn’t try hard enough. Like you failed.
What a big disappointment that is! Who wants that in their life? None of us need that.
But the good news… the amazing news… you don’t have to feel that disappointment!
His loving kindness never fails. His love never ends. His mercies are new each and every day, not just the beginning of the year! There is so much hope in that. You don’t need a January 1st on the calendar for a fresh start. We can have that fresh, new start any day of the year. We can have that new beginning every day of the year! Refreshing, don’t you think?
Christ came to give us hope. Fresh hope.
Each day. Every day.
I hope you find the same encouragement that I do in this scripture. A reminder that it doesn’t matter what day of the year it is, His mercies are new each morning. A reminder that I can carry the excitement and hope of fresh beginnings with me throughout the entire year.
This free printable is the perfect size to place on your desktop (like I did) or a special little spot for a bit of encouragement each day. You can click here {free 5″ x 7″ PDF printable} and you will be able to download it to print. Personal use only, please. I plan to share a new print for you to switch out each month this year. I hope they will encourage and inspire you all year long!
I am excited to invite a fresh way of thinking into my heart this year. Fresh hope every day. Who is with me?!

Jennifer,
My “word” from yesterday was/is “intentional”. I want to be intentional about living every day like it was January 1 – being blessed with His mercies that are new EVERY morning! Love this scripture and thanks for the handy reminder…

Thank you! Happy New Year, FringeGirl!
Thanks so much! I didn’t want to make any resolutions for this year but I couldn’t get away from thinking about the moments where I failed in 2013! And there was all the shame about being so unperfectly and being so less strong!
But His mercies are new …EVERY morning.
I need to see more love in Christ. He is so full of deep love for us and I need to see it and feel it! More than ever before. Maybe it’s the best resolution for a new year!
Be blessed!
Rosie
None of us are perfect and He loves us anyway! Amazing, isn’t it?! Praying you feel His love today and through the new year, Rosie!
I love this, thank you!
You are so welcome, Ruth!
I love this verse! We had this printed and posted on our bedroom wall, first thing I see every morning upon waking up! God’s mercies are new and Thank Goodness!
Oh that is wonderful, Monica! Perfect to see each morning upon waking… love that!
This verse has been on my heart for days now Jen. I think of it when I wake up in the morning and as the new year begins. How miraculous that we are given mercies every day. Thank you so much for this sweet girl. Praying all is well.
Thank you sweet friend! It really is miraculous, isn’t it, Linda? Comforting to think of it each morning.
Amazing how consistently this is resonating in my life right now! My word was “prayer.” So basic, but really at the root of all I want or hope to accomplish this year. And again God reminded me that I will mess up, I will forget, but it is never too late to make a fresh start.
Beautifully said, Jeanine! I love your word!
Love this!! I shared similar sentiments on Sunday at service. Thankful our God is so gracious & loving.
Thanks so much! It is a great way of thinking to start the new year, Kiva!
Thank you, Jennifer, for the beautiful printable. I have the perfect frame for this, and will look forward to updating it each month so there is something fresh on my desk to encourage me. I’m with you about fresh hope each and every day too! May you have small wonders and kind words come back to you each day to breath just such a freshness anew! Blessings on you and your studio endeavors in this new year of 2014!
You are most welcome, Babs! Happy to hear you will look forward to updating your frame each month! Thank you for your kind words!
Jennifer,
Thank you for the reminder that it is ok to mess up, because God will forgive us and give us new mercies daily!
I think my word for the year is renewed. I want to be renewed & refreshed in the Lord and go deeper into His word.
Have a blessed year!
We are so blessed with those mercies, aren’t we, Beth?! What a wonderful word for the year! Love that!
I have actually been wanting to put this verse in both my bathrooms so it is the first thing we see every morning. Now I don’t have to come up with a way to do it. Thank you!!
Oh great… so happy to hear that, Stephanie! Enjoy!
Thank you so much for sharing this.. This helped me and encourages more to continue on. And I hope that’s it’s okay with you to use this for our prayer meeting’s sharing/teaching tonight. I already have a subject prior seeing this image scripture. This helps and adds more idea to my sharing/teaching later. I hope I can get an answer from you within 3 hours because out prayer meeting will start within 5 hours.
But I wanna thank you for sharing this! You are a blessing to me! God bless you more and your family, Jennifer.
