“I know you don’t like me. I’m not perfect. I’m different.”
These words stab my mother’s heart, clinch my gut.
Why is being different considered bad, but unique good? They mean the same thing.
And how do you explain unconditional love to someone who thinks it describes her feelings for the boy band One Direction?
“Honey, I may not always like everything you say or do, but I love you unconditionally. You’re my daughter.”
Why is unconditional love so hard to understand? If I struggle with the knowledge that God loves me unconditionally, in spite of my baggage, it’s logical that my daughter doubts, too.
In the Bible, God tells us that we’re fearfully and wonderfully made, that even the very hairs of our heads are all numbered. You can’t get more special, more loved than that.
If you’re looking for a way to tell your child just how unique he or she is, DaySpring has some great new products that can help. The Back to School lineup is currently Buy 2 Get 1 Free and includes products with quotes like Jesus is My BFF (my daughter and I looked up 1 Corinthians 1:9 because we had to know the inspiration for this one!); I <3 Jesus; and my 17-year-old son’s personal favorite: You Need Jesus. I’m Just Saying.
The new U-NEEKS cards and plush toys feature crazy, quirky characters to help you show your child that being different—uniquely themselves in the fearfully and wonderfully made way that God created them—is just right.
Check the tag to find out what makes each one unique (U-NEEK!).

I don’t hav any children. My way of telling other people how special or unique they are is to send a card, either on-line or snail mail.
Thank for a good pos!
I love this new collection. As a mentor to teen girls and mother to a growing brood of my own, I AM THRILLED TO SEE THIS COLLECTION! It is so much fun, so unique, and steeped with deep meaning wrapped in lighthearted fun. Thanks, Dayspring, for keeping our girls in mind!
