Do you decorate for Spring?
I don’t do much specific “themed” decorating, but I do really like decorating with eggs this time of year. I actually love seasonal decorating and changing things around the house.
Decorating for the seasons helps me to find contentment and thankfulness at home. It is easy it is to keep things feeling fresh and new with just simple seasonal tweaks to my decor. The process of nurturing my home through the year is one way I can show love to my family and find joy in simple creativity.
I buy inexpensive craft eggs that can be reused year after year. I found these at Michaels’ Craft.
Eggs are so easy to decorate with, simply set them around the house on shelves and mantels, fill a jar, vase or pedestal with eggs, or set one up on a candle stick or pillar. In the photo above I used the new Redeemed Dough Bowl as a centerpiece, filled with eggs. Easy!
Best of all, eggs are a symbol of new life and all the blessings we have in Christ.
Time to get crackin’ and set some spring eggs around your house, don’t you think? Are you in the mood for spring?

I love this idea! I am currently in a no decorations phase. My 19 month old son is very good at taking things down and then either hiding or breaking said things. Although wooden eggs might not be a bad idea 🙂 Just yesterday I had to take a couple pictures off the wall that he could now climb up on the back of the couch and get. I think I took for granted how chill my oldest was at his age…

Oh yes, they are all different aren’t they? Right now we have to keep things up high for our puppy’s sake. He would love to dismantle just about anything I set out 🙂

The eggs are wooden?! I would never have guessed. When you said craft eggs, I assumed they were plastic or something. At any rate, I’m so glad to not be the only one with children who are capable of inhuman destruction! Between our cats and our small children, we don’t decorate either.

Dear Melissa, I love the ideas you’ve presented on decorating with eggs!! It’s got me thinking to playing around with some egg decoration myself…tho I haven’t done something like this in very many years!!!!

I got the most realistic bird’s nest filled with beautiful speckled eggs and a few random feathers tucked into the sides … for like $1.99 at the local Christmas Tree Shop a few years ago. I love it so much that it stays out year round at my counseling office.

Sounds lovely! Those are my favorite types of decorations, the ones you love all year round!

Pretty. Love the new life, idea!
Reminds me to be the “new creation” that my salvation allows me to be.

I love that repurposed ladder that you have in the corner. The weathered/ancient look always catches my eye, and it looks gorgeous!

Thanks! I was so thrilled to find that ladder. It is just as I found it too, I didn’t have to paint or distress it :-)!

My idea of making things fresh & new is scented candles. We use them in various room upstairs. Other than that we don’t decorate much–hubby is not a fan of “stuff” on walls, & in the house. I’m not the crafty, decorating type of person. Less is more is our motto!

I love candles. Obviously we like decor too, but I pretty much stay away from most crafty things as well! Less is more is a great motto!

Melissa, I just love your eggs. I instagrammed a real blue robin’s egg yesterday that my 10yos found in our back yard. It’s sitting in a little nest in our house; I’ll just have to remember to get rid of it before it smells! 🙁
