While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying,
“Take and eat; this is my body.”
Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying,
“Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father’s kingdom.”
When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

Took. Not merely submitted to. What is it the Lord isasking me to “take” this week?
We took communion at church today, so very appropriate. Thank you. 🙂
Happy SONday to you, too 🙂 🙂 Thanks for sharing today 🙂 Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather 🙂 🙂 🙂
Our church–Blue Springs Christian Church-takes communion weekly. We have a communion meditation, prayer and then communion is given to us by servers.
We use the admonition in Acts 2:36-40 “As often as you gather together you should do this in rememberance of me”. So that we never ever forget!
Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. His body was broken His blood was shed to make me a child of God. What a price! Lord teach me to remember every second of my day that you at the core of me is my only claim to righteousness.
