  1. I bought this book last week – having NO idea that this summer challenge was coming up! I vowed to begin eating healthy and clean foods this week, this time using scripture as my #1 weapon!
Isn’t it just like God to send in extra motivation (in the form of a book club) just when I need it most? Thanks, Lysa, for listening to God’s nudge….. 🙂

  2. Been praying about whether to get this book for quite some time now. I didn’t want to get yet another book that wasn’t going to help me end my struggle with weight. I love what Lysa said, about “we know the how”, thats me. I know more about nutrition, exercise and the body, that it’s embarassing and ridiculous that I weigh as much as I do! I prayed that if God wanted me to read it, He would provide it for me. A couple months later, He did! A dear friend of mine without knowing my prayer, said she was going to buy me a copy and send it! Then today she gave me link for your blog. I’m so excited about this! Praying God will finally provide me with victory over this HUGE stumbling block in my life!

  3. I just finished your book last week, but will do it all over again! I started eating clean last week to dump my junk food addiction. What a week it became!

  4. Wow! I never really thought about food & God like that! Thank you for putting it all into perspective.

I will keep following this blog all summer long. My hubby & I have decided to lose weight & firm up & get muscular this year. We want to do it for each other so in our later years we won’t have to be taking care one another, medically speaking – we have no children to help us.

    Thanks again Lysa

  5. I am on my last week of your study that goes along with this book. I love it! I have never in my life thought as my food addiction being sin (which btw I do not call food addiction but food sin). I have not also struggled with food but when I gave up smoking several years ago I transferred that sin into the food sin. This is where it STOPS! I will no longer be bound by this sin, it will not rule me. I have committed my life to be free with Jesus. I after all am a Jesus Girl! To date I have lost 10lbs. I tried everything riding a bike 10 miles a day, counting calories, Pilates everyday to not lose a single pound. Who knew that just by being obedient to what God was calling me to toss aside I would find the best weight loss program of all. I still do 10miles once a week, watch my portion size, allowing myself 1 sweet a week (this is something that I withdrew from for a month) and doing yoga 2x a week. Thank you for this book and Praise Jesus for bringing it into my life!

    • Hi Geneva. I hear what you are talking about – and am there atm. When I read your comment that you ride 10 miles a week, I recalled something I heard that made sense ‘back then’ and really worked for me a while ago (though I’ve got to get back into it). Walking. Making sure one does a minimum of 10,000 steps every day (ie. for me, that meant a one hour walk), and just basic movement is best for losing weight. Riding is fantastic – but it also is more muscle building, legs wise. Walking is not weight bearing (except for your own weight) and will just help get you moving. I don’t know if this will help you?! I hope it does! Bless x

  6. I am in a class with a group of ladies that will finish the 6 weeks this week. I have really enjoyed the class time and the video sessions. Thanks, Lysa, for sharing.

  7. I just finished Made to Crave this morning! I don’t actually struggle with food but a month or so ago I felt a tug in my heart that I was supposed to give up something else. I felt a little crazy having a conversation with God about giving up a video game. A few days later I saw Lysa at an E Womans conference in Pensacola Florida. She stood up there and told everyone her issues with food and how embarrassed she was that she had done it to her self. I related to her emotion and struggle even though it wasn’t with the same idol. So I bought her book! I have found so much freedom in my journey of discipline and better choices with God over the last month! I had no idea a silly little permissible thing could be such a stumbling block in my walk with God. Thank you Lysa for your brave words and for allowing God to use you as an example in my life and many other women’s lives.

  8. So excited! I just bought the NookBook and can’t wait to get into it. This challenge comes at the perfect time for me as well, as I started a healthy eating plan (hate the word “diet”!) a week ago. I’m ready!

  9. listended to your little message this morning and i will be watching every day. have struggled with my weight for so many years and am now sixty two. God bless you as you share this with so many of us who have, i am sure, been in or still are in this position.

  10. Hi, I have read the book earlier in the year, but am going through it again with a friend from work as we started our own healthy lifestyle commitment this week. This is coming at the perfect time! Thank you so much Lysa, for heading God’s call and writing this book!

  11. Hi Lysa. I can’t thank you enough for the encouragement you are giving. I signed up for your Made to Crave 21 day email challenge and have, sadly, been just sending them to an email folder and not delving into them. Then today I found your video and immediately ordered Made to Crave on Kindle. I felt the drawing of the Holy Spirit so strongly. I know that God is going to use this to help me change my perspective and turn my cravings for food to cravings for Him. God Bless You.

  12. So I bought the book! I hope and pray this will help. I just ordered it. I wish it had a companion journal. If it does, let me know.
I’m discouraged…. but I think in our discouragement we can see clearer when we pray. So many things have not worked….

God does. And so I hope.

  13. I was on FB this AM and my sweet cousin Sandy posted your message. I have been in tears for a couple of days now. Not sure what was really going on. But I know a couple of things have a hold on my life and are bringing me down. My weight and where I am now is a minute by minute bummer to me. I don’t want to be here. I want to find freedom. God brought me to your challenge today. I’ll be going to the local book store and pray they have your book. Thanks so much for listening and obeying! Hugs!

  14. I also bought the book a few months back, to do with Melissa Taylor. I did the study without the book. Now that I have the book I may just do the study during the three week break between her studies. Maybe I can join in here and do it with y’all.
