UPDATED: The randomly selected winner of a set of Colors of Compassion Cards is Jodi – Congrats!
I wrote my first post about Compassion International years before I ever stepped foot into Africa with Compassion.
It was about a little boy in Ethiopia named Bereket, our first sponsored child. That was nearly four years ago and his picture has changed as he’s grown. So has my heart for this ministry.
I didn’t know that by writing that simple post, I was joining a host of other bloggers doing the same thing: writing about their passion for the work of Compassion International. It was like joining a really cool club with heavenly perks (i.e.making fun of Shaun Grove’s hair) and getting to know some amazing people.
And then I experienced a Compassion Blogging trip overseas and saw the work with my own eyes. I’m more of an advocate now of their work than ever before!
Meeting Ephantus, one of our sponsored children in Kenya.
We want to read about your passion for Compassion.
If you’ve written a post (present or past) about your sponsored children, the work of Compassion or how one of the blogging trips has affected you, would you link it up, so we can all enjoy?

I can’t wait to read these! When I first read Sophie & Shannon’s posts from Uganda I wrote a post entitled “The One In Which I Sob”. I couldn’t get it out of my mind. I said, “That is what I want to do when I grow up.” I’ve written several posts about Compassion (and World Vision and Samaritan’s Purse) since then because our two Compassion kids in Burkina Faso and our World Vision Daughter in the DR have changed our lives.
So thankful for Compassion and WV and other organizations getting involved w/bloggers to spread the word and CHANGE KIDS LIVES!

Wow! Thank you for writing this to bring everyone together! I just sponsored my first Compassion Child this last weekend. I haven’t written anything at length about it yet, only here and there with relation to my goal of sponsoring (it was #131 on my bucket list).
As I ended a recent post… “I’m looking forward to hearing more about my Compassion Child. It said to expect information in about 15 days. Wow. It seems like so long to wait. Yet, she waited over 6 months for me…”

Kimberly, everything that is in the packet is also right on your compassion account under “Child Information”. You can also write to your child right away by clicking the Conact Your Child link on the left of your account! 😀

My link is to a blog I don’t use anymore, but my family does still sponsor the little girl in the post. The older she gets, the more I look forward to her letters, as she will be able to write from her own heart without so much guidance from the adults in the center.
But she derails me when she asks me to pray for her dad in nearly every letter. The heart of a child – no wonder Jesus wanted them to come to Him…

My entire blog is dedicated to Compassion. I have ideas for letter writing, tips for goodies to send, monthly Devotions to share with your children and I show many of the packages we send to our 7 compassion kids. I hope you check it out and are blessed by it! 😀
