  1. I am loving going out to the parks and marveling at the colors of the trees. I had heard we may not get a lot of color this year since we have not had a lot of rain the last 3 months. But the trees are gorgeous! I have been able to get some beautiful pictures the last 3 weekends and this weekend I took some beautiful shots of my children playing in the dried crunchy leaves and literally up in the trees!

I love to sit with my eyes closed to feel God next to me. When I am outside and I hear the leaves blowing in the trees or I can hear the crunchy leaves blow around I feel like its God talking to me.

The other thing I love about fall are Honey Crisp Apples! We can only get them between Oct-end of Nov and I will pay the steep price for them every year a few times each fall! And the tradition I have with my children is that we go to a local Fruit Farm to visit their pumpkin patch to get our pumpkins & gourds for the house! And then we eat the best pumpkin pie and apple fritters this farm makes right out of their barn-I believe that is a taste of heaven right here on earth!

So all in all I would say Fall is my favorite season of all!

  2. I love everything about Fall. It is my favorite season. In addition to everything that has already been mentioned, I love hot spiced cider and pumpkin rolls and getting out the warm comfy sweaters and sweatshirts. Almost feels like your wrapped in a hug. 🙂

  3. I lovew the leaves, hot spiced apple cider, carnivals, Thanksgiving, rides in the country, nice cool evenings with warm days on your face in the afternoon. Fall is my favorite season of all the season’s. It means that the hussle and bussle (which I love when it’s Hot outside) is over with and I can rest my weary body from go, go, going. I love the decorations of fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and just that bright orange pumpkin. Oh, and there’s the smell of fall..Just closing my eyes I can smell it.

  4. I love the colored leaves. We live in a mild climate, so we have summer flowers (hardy fuschias, nasturtiums, roses galore — they’re in about their 4th blooming explosion since that first spring showy showing. Actually, the native leaves have only turned somewhat, as we’ve had a dry fall and no really cold nights. But the ornamental maples and other imports have been glorious, though they’re mostly gone now.

It’s harder to appreciate that it gets dark earlier in the evening (and we still have 2 months to go till the shortest day of the year!), the cool mornings when I debate whether to turn up the electric heat and have a larger utility bill, or just put on extra jackets. Some people are already grousing about the fact that the weatherman says we’ll probably have a wetter and colder winter than usual.

But just as God has his seasons of Nature, he has his seasons for our lives. May we let him fill us with his hope that he has something good for us in every season.

  5. Fall is my favorite season. I love the smells, the crisp weather, the yummy foods and the time I get to spend with my family.

  6. The tired heat of summer gives way to the invigorating cool of fall. The vegetation too seems to come alive to the cool of the weather with brilliant colors of orange…..red……burnt umber…and golden yellows. My windows and doors are opened to the noises of birds, crickets and frogs. The smell of cinnamon, pumpkin and apples. I feel, hear, see and smell…..what’s NOT to LIKE about FALL?

  7. I love the leaves – the trees are so beautiful – it is amazing to see first hand at what a masterful creator we serve – the best artist can’t match his hand of excellence – it is enough to begin a worship service at any point in time. I love pumpkin flavored items; ability to wear cute jackets and hats. My birthday is in the fall! I’ve gone apple picking a few times – I’ve enjoyed that. I also like that is its the beginning of school that will forever mark in our hearts a beginning of a new season – and hopeful a new season spiritually too. lots of love to all the (in)courage girls – this is one of my daily treats – I have to remember God has dropped in my lap. Be blessed!

  8. i love the sugar maple trees whose leaves turn a brilliant red in the fall; they remind me of my hometown, Baldwin City, Ks, where fall is celebrated every year on the 3d weekend in October with the Maple Leaf Festival. i was a senior in high school when the 1st annual festival was held about 45-50 years ago. those sugar maple trees were the inspiration for the beginning of this festival, so my thoughts always go back there at this time of year.

  9. Candy corn, both kinds! and leaves changing amid evergreens, crisp weather and watching sunsets at dinner. Sukkoth and Hanukkah, my new favorite celebrations. Pumpkins bright orange and acorn squash green and butternut a sort of peachy squashy color sitting together on my black topped coffee table, at least until we eat them! Oh the yummy things to eat…
We have a birthday each month from September to December, so it’s rather a full time, with all the other holidays as well. School marches on, professor husband working hard and homeschool daughter excited about some things and struggling in others. Sabbath rest is so important and so lovely when the seasons change.

  10. The leaves don’t change here in Central Florida, nor is the air crisp and cool yet. But what I love about Fall is that on Saturday nights we can sit by the water and watch the fishermen. We can feel a breeze not quite warm any more and enjoy the sunset. We can play worship music for all the fishermen to hear. They don’t leave either. This is the best Fall I’ve had because of Saturday night praise.

  11. Any and all things PUMPKIN–especially the ones I can eat. 🙂 I love how you bring so much beauty to the world, Lisa Leonard, and how you find the loveliness that’s already there too. You remind us all to do the same. XOXO

  12. I’m loving the beautiful pictures you’ve posted. Their understated simplicity says it all. Thank you for a serendipitous beginning to my day …

  13. I love the sound of crunching underfoot when we hike in the Smoky Mountains. I love pumpking spice candles, corduroy pants! I love that I have to mow the grass less often and we’re settled into home a bit earlier. I love anticipating holidays just around the calendar corner and extra time with long-distance family.

I am reminded of the seasons of nature and of life and that change is a part of our experience. I am grateful that God controls it all!

  14. I am loving the weather – its SO perfect for fall – gray cloudy skies the coolness in the air! Ususally in LA this time of year its very WARM or too warm to wear a scarf and ugg boots – but lately its been perfect fall weather! I am also loving the cozy feeling my house has – its full of love and goodness and I am SO thankful!!!

thank lisa once again for reminding that beauty is all around us in the little things!

  15. The wind is howling today. I am loving the turning of another page as I sit with the kids in our family room reading aloud to them. One is working on a hooked rug. One is working on his Twig Jig (crafting amazing things out of toothpicks). One is creating with Delta Sand. The other is finishing her lunch. It so cocoon-ish. So comforting.

  16. The sky is swirling with the promise of fall rain. A little chill in the air calls for a sweater. The smell of a fireplace log somewhere close by and the yummy smell of something warm and delicious bubbling in the crockpot. These are the things I love about fall.
