  1. Dear Holley,
Thank you. This is so beautiful and so true…
“…the result we need most is more of Him in our lives. And that’s what He always willing to give us.
Prayer is not about receiving. It’s about falling in love.”
I’ve received so much more of Him in my life these last couple of years and, you’re right, He knew that that is exactly what I needed. I’ve fallen so in love with Him. These last two years have been the most difficult for me but I’m also so thankful for them because I never knew how much I was wanted.
What a beautiful thing to be reminded of this morning, Holley. Thank you, again.
    Love and blessings,

  2. Good morning Holley
what a beautiful way to start my sunday, with the thought of falling in love today, with our Lord. we always like that feeling, and can have it with Him. for i know the plans i have for you delcares the Lord, plans to give you a hope and a future….. jeremiah 29 11-13

  3. “And the real miracle is not getting what we want–it’s about realizing how much we’re wanted.”
If we only we knew the depths of how much we’re wanted! Just knowing we’re wanted is the very beginning of love. May those who read this know they. are. wanted. By One who is able to be the ‘Lover of our souls.’

  4. yes, good…. thank you. I have been spending this morning, from 5 am to 7, praying for wisdom and how to work with, schedule, plan my kids summer…seeing we are two weeks into already…and freaking a bit.
This was a drink of cool water…thank you

  5. You’re right…it is about falling in love. And love is not always predictable…it’s an adventure…a journey…a becoming. My prayer today is Lord, keep me near you…help me share you…help me live and love as you…only you would have me live. You’re my witness, Holley. Thanks for the wisdom and encouragement!

  6. “Prayer is not about receiving.
    It’s about falling in love.”
This was perfectly put into words. Thanks for the image I needed.

  7. Oh Holley . . .I love thinking about prayer as falling in love with Him. Our way to His heart already full of love for us. Ready. Waiting to be the answer to what we really need, when we pray. 🙂 He uses you in amazing ways! Thank you for your faithfulness to Him and us! 🙂 love, deb

  8. Thank You Holley! Attended Write to Publish Conference in Wheaton this week and remember the years I took your Greeting Card classes- missed those! Blessings in your ongoing ministry that touches the hearts of so many women!

  9. Hi Holley
What you said was simply beautiful. As i took my hand and pretended to throw dice..my hand was opened to receive His love for me.The Lord has truly blessed you with the gift of encouragement. After working as a nurse all day around unsaved co workers…reading (in)courage refreshes me. Thanks a bunch for your faithfulness to Jesus Christ and us.

  10. This was a beautiful post. Prayer really is like casting a dice. It should just be about time spent with God rather than making God a vending machine.

  11. No I don’t believe praying is like throwing dice. Although, it sure feels like it “sometimes” but I am “still” learning God is working when I cannot see his hand I have to trust his word and his heart… As a matter of fact I was reminded yesterday by my spiritual father that “Men ought to always pray,” Like 18:1. I’m glad that the bible is not gender-specific like secular literature, when the bible says men and man, except for specific subjects (such as marriage) he is addressing all of mankind male and female…

  12. Grace.
    Not what we deserve.
But what He loves us with.
He simply asks us to accept it.
    His grace.
    His awesome, mind-bending, life-altering, you-will-never-be-the-same. Grace.
What kind of love is this.
The kind I want to receive.
    The kind I want.
    To give.
    Only through God, the Father,
    Christ, the Son,
    and the Holy Spirit.

  13. Oh how I have missed you, Holley, and your words…. Life Happened and I have not stayed caught up with your posts like I love to do.
Thank you so much for sharing. I love the thought of HIM “Scattering the Stars.” Thanks for that imagery.

  14. “And the real miracle is not getting what we want–it’s about realizing how much we’re wanted”
My eyes are welling with tears reading that line over and over again. This is right where I am. Despite all of my shortcomings, He still desires a relationship with ME. What a great place to rest in, the arms of the Lover of Our Souls. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you for this.
