UPDATE: Congratulations to Kerri, Chrissy, Kathleen, and Megan for winning the Letters to God kits! We’ll be in touch with you soon. Thanks to everyone who entered and let’s all spread the word and support this movie!
His name was Caleb. He had hair the color of summer sand. He was the same age as my little brother and lived down the street. When he was five, he got leukemia. One day he told his family he was ready to go home to Jesus. With a smile on his face, he did.
When I first heard of the movie, Letters to God, I thought of Caleb again. At first I didn’t want to see it, that childhood ache still there. But on a sunny afternoon back in the fall I watched it with a group of my coworkers. And I was glad I did.
Letters to God is based on the true story of a little boy named Tyler who has cancer. It’s about courage and redemption, power and grace, faith and so much of what it means to be family.
I think Caleb would have loved it.
Two little boys…different stories, the same battle. We may not ever face what they or their families did but in many ways we’re all the same. We know what it’s like to fight, to grasp for faith in the middle of hard times, to lose and win all at the same time.
Most of all, we know every life matters and together we can make a difference.
Letters to God opens on April 9th and we’d love for you to go see it. We’re giving away four Letters to God kits. Each kit includes three different Letters to God books from Zondervan, a set of Letters to God cards by DaySpring, and four tickets to the movie for opening night.
Leave a comment by midnight tonight to enter. The winners will be announced tomorrow so we can get the kits to you by Friday!
Let’s all support this movie, this movement, and most of all the children and families who bravely battle.Leave a Comment
