  1. I love what you said, “It’s funny how often I meet Jesus in the kitchen.” The kitchen isn’t my favorite spot -it’s usually a burning things place. 🙂 But I’m going to take your statement with me when I make pork roast tonight -and have my own meeting with Jesus in the kitchen. Thank you for this!

  2. I used to think that God was more interested in the “big” things, like saving the world, than he was in the routine activities of life. Lately, he has convinced me that he cares deeply about the things make up our everyday existence. It is in these times that we are able to pass down to our little ones the most important message of all: Jesus and his love.

  3. I, too, loved the line, “It’s funny how often I meet Jesus in the kitchen.” Made me think: “Where do I often meet Jesus?” The answer: in the car. No radio or CDs playing. It’s a quiet time of reflecting on blessings, sharing my concerns, praising Him for the beauty of creation. That’s when my mind is most free to wander to the holy. (Another attention-grabbing sentence!) Thank You for a thought-provoking post, Jessica.

  4. I love having reminders of the why of the season around my house, also. I get soo tired of the commercialization of Christmas. It seems right after Halloween all you hear about is buy this/that, etc. Get this/that for Christmas. Whatever happened to Thanksgiving? It is an important holiday also. We need to remind ourselves of the why for that holiday also.

I meet Jesus sometimes in the dark bathroom taking a shower by candelight. I can pray & sing praises–it is very calming to me. Also meet with Him in my car when driving to work. I listen to Christian music & hear what the words are saying.

Loved the analogies & your post@

  5. I love the song. I see Baby JESUS every single year at Christmas. HE is my GIFT. FACE to face. Love the soup bowl, Lovely.

  6. I find myself talking to God, Jesus, and/or Mary in the car, the same way you are in the kitchen. I guess it’s when my mind is the quietest.

  8. Your message inspired me a lot.

Thank God, my kitchen is also the place where I can meet the God and pray for all families.

    Thank you, Jessica!
