  1. 2 Corinthians 12:9 is the one that always comforts and encourages me.
‘But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.’
Particularly at this season where my family is going through a big challenge, God encourages me that this difficult time is the time that HE is working, and that He will never give us a cross that we are not able to take up 🙂

  2. I have so many scriptures that I consider favorites. I love Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord…”

  3. For when you did awesome things that we did not expect, you came down, and the mountains trembled before you.
Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him. – Is. 64:2-4
I mean…..really. He does awesome things we don’t expect. For those who wait on Him. (No perfection required. 😉 ) And how awesome is He? No ear has perceived and no eye has seen…..
It comforts me. It reminds me who God is. And it moves me towards love for Him (and action).
    Poetry. Yeah. 😉
    Love!

  4. Romans 8:31-39 is one of my favourites. It is a constant reminder of how God’s love always remains, no matter what!

  5. I have many favorites but, in recent times, Psalm 34:18 has been a favorite and a comfort to me:
“The LORD is near to the brokenhearted
And saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
    He is so good.

  6. Mine is Zeph. 3:17 “The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”
Everything about that verse makes me feel happy and secure and loved.

  7. Seeing the jewlery reminded me of Psalm 1 that speaks of a strong growing, and fruitful tree illustrating a life connected to the Life Giver. That is one of my favorite portions.

  8. For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper and not harm you, plans for hope and a future. Jer. 29:11
    and also
I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Phil. 4:13

  9. Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understandings and in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.

  10. So do not fear, for I am with you.
do not be dismayed, for I am your
    God.
I will strengthen you and help
    you;
I will uphold you with my
    righteous right hand.
    Isaiah 41:10

  11. I love Jeremiah 29:11 – 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
I hang onto this one when I a struggling or it doesn’t seem like things are going the way they should.

  12. “I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I put my hope.” – Psalm 130:5
This reminds me that God is always working, and it also reminds me to cling to His word in the meantime. 🙂

  13. In the past year, life’s worst trials have hit, so………….
    Jeremiah 17:7-8
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose trust is the Lord. For he will be like a tree firmly planted by the water, that extends its roots by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes; but its leaves will be green; and it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit”.

  14. Psalm 139:16
…your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me were written in your book, before one of them came to be.
The older I get, the more comforting this verse becomes.

  15. The verses that have encouraged and blessed me:
Matthew 5:3-10. Read it in the Message version! Here is a snipet. I just love it! “You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are

  16. Lately it’s been 1 Timothy 4:7-12. I started a ministry (GodlyGals.com) at age 17. I’m 25 now, not old by any means, but a bit more seasoned — both in the world and the Word. Still, I need this reminder because I do experience a little prejudice and judgment for my lack of “experience” (so many meanings) from time to time.
God has a plan for me. I will follow him and his leading until my time here is through. That verse is just the encouragement that I need.

  17. My husband lost his job on Wednesday and this verse has been my head. I love Proverbs 3 but this is what I keep repeating over and over…
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight

  18. James 1:27 is at the top of the missionary prayer card of our sweet friend, Joy, who entered into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday. That verse, her favorite verse, has been speaking to my soul. And Psalm 3:3.

  19. The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
    Zeph. 3:17
I “found” this one when I was at a youth conference right before the start of my SR year of HS. It is now the verse that is at the bottom of my email for work.
I just LOVE the PROMISE in it and the HOPE that is found there too.

  20. Lamentations 3:24
“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I have hope in Him.”
In it, I find comfort, encouragement and rest.

  21. “For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you a hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 This verse has brought comfort to me time and time again.

  22. Several have quoted the Proverbs 3:5-6 always a solid rock in my mind but another that is so very comforting to me is:
James 1:2-3 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
He is STILL working on me! Even at 47 there are times when things are so rough – He is STILL working on me, he doesn’t give up! Trials of all kinds can make or break us – knowing He is there to build us up as we grow in Him – is so important.

  23. there are so many wonderful ones. a favorite lately is romans 15.13
“may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
    thanks,
    shana

  24. 1 Corinthians 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect.
I just found this verse this week. Isn’t it a lovely explanation of who each of us is. Only by His Grace!

  25. Ephesian 1:7-8 I love how it words that God lavished grace on us with all wisdom and understanding. Lavished…what a word picture!
7In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. 9And hed made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ,

  26. Right now, I’m reminded of Psalm 127: 3Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
When the days are so long with so many small children, these verses see me thru.

  27. My favorite is: Jer 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

  28. Jeremiah 29:11
and Psalms 46:10 cause sometimes we just need to be Still and Know that He is GOD.

  29. There are many verses that speak to me, but James 1:19 is something I try to live by: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.

  30. My very favorite scripture and one I cling to every day is Psalm 91 (commonly known as the soldier’s Psalm). Our Son is career Army and this Psalm has brought us both so much comfort. We know without a doubt that God protects him as well as all of our soldiers – our True American Heros.
We are Abiding in the Shadow of the Almighty!

  31. Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God;I will be exalted among the nations,I will be exalted in the earth” (NIV).
This verse has been dear to me for so many years. Whenever I start to worry, these words come back to me, reminding me the God is truly in control.

  32. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26 A verse that has carried me through many of life’s storms.

  33. I have been reading Psalms 121. I’ve had an extremely difficult year with a divorce, a foreclosure, and life in general. I am trying to keep my eyes on the hills and not “lean on my own understanding”. Thank you to all of you who have posted scriptures – they will help. Thank you.

  34. The scripture that has been my promise from God for this year is:
    Ephesians 3:20 (The Message)
God can do anything, you know

  35. He has made everything beautiful in its time…Ecc 3:11.
Because every season of life is made beautiful because of Him and His love for us. No matter what you are going through…happy, sad, mountains or valleys.

  36. Psalm 1 – I just gave a Bible study on that chapter and I want to be like those trees planted by streams of water – strong and tough and beautiful and true in every season.

  37. I echo the others who listed Jeremiah 29:11.
“For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper and not harm you, plans for hope and a future.”
Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God” is also a favorite.

  38. My favorite is the following:
    Psalm 139:17-18
17How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
18If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
God’s thoughts toward us are innumerable and that’s something worth waking up for. When no one else cares He does and is always thinking of us!

  39. –been living this scripture lately…
1 Peter 4:14 If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified!

  40. Gal 6:9 So lets not get tired of doing what is good, at just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we dont give up!
I just love that verse, so much encouragement to keep on going no matter the hurts or disappointments, He promises to give us blessings at just the right time!
    Be blessed my friends!

  41. Phillipians 4:13…”I can do all things through him who gives me strength” When I’m feeling weak, I just ask the Lord for his strength to get me through! AND Proverbs 3:5 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understandings and in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.”

  42. My favorite verse is Phil 4:13: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
The verse in front of me today is Prov 16:3: Commit your works to the LORD and your thoughts will be established.
I can do it….but I need to keep Him in the forefront.
    Blessings, SusanD

  43. I have loved I Corinthians 15:58 for years. After Paul reviewed the victory of Christ’s resurrection, God used him to tell us, “Be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord; for ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
Keep at it, girls. God has already done the hard part.

  44. Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the desert
and speak tenderly to her. There I will give her back her vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope. There she will sing as in the days of her youth, as in the day she came up out of Egypt.
    Hosea 2:14-15

  45. Ann V had a post a short while back about how our strong words as mothers have a profound effect on our children – as a mom of a two year old and a two month old, the verse she quoted has really stuck with me – Ephesians 4:29. Every time I face another “two-yr-old creation” I pray that God gives the right words to (in)courage his formation, not hinder it. 🙂

  46. This is from my morning quiet time, spoke to me today 🙂
Psalm 23:10 I was thrust into your arms at my birth. You have been my God from the moment I was born.
From the moment I was born He has been there. He has seen every hurt and blessing that has come to pass, and knows everything that is to come. I can lay my burdens at His feet and let my head rest in His lap, knowing full well that He is there.

  47. I’ve been holding on to Jeremiah 29:11. Even though I feel unsure of the plans for my life, I know that I can rest safely on the fact that God knows what all of my days hold and the ultimate plan is to glorify Him.

  48. “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.” – Psalm 19:14

  49. This verse is comforting me in times of need. ” Peace I leave with you, peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give i unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”. – John 14:27 ..
Its very encourging especially in the times that Nashville has had and I have had personally. God is faithful and whatever he brings my way is for a reason and I just have to learn to trust in him and know that everything happens for his purpose and in his timing!
I hope this verse is encourging to you as well.

  50. Ephesians 2:10 (New Living Translation)
10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

  51. I love Romans 12:12, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Simple Instructions with a big impact, always leave me feeling loved, because I know that’s the grace the Father extends ME!

  52. This blessing is one of my favorites, when I was growing up, our pastor at the time used to close the service with it almost every Sunday.
    Numbers 6:24-26

  53. Romans 8:28 comes to my mind for myself, for those I love and for those I minister to..
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

  54. 1 Peter 1:6-7
“So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have had to endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold- though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.”
This gives me “big picture” perspective when I can get easily lost in my pain/discouragement, reminding me that my pain is not for nothing and God is actively at work in my life even in the “dark” times!

  55. Well today it’s from James 1, verse 17 (I think). God does not change like shifting shadows. I don’t have to worry that beneath his shining exterior that there is darkness. I don’t have to be afraid that He says one thing but will do another. He’s faithful and dependable . . . and GOOD.

  56. 2 Corinthians 5:14 I am compelled by Christ’s love
I went through a season where I had to learn to be moved forward in ministry by His love, not my guilt, not my obligation, and not my need to hide my imperfections, unhealing, and brokenness with “ministry activity” – I still love this scripture

  57. So often lately I have been asking and praying: “Lord, What would You have me to do?” Acts 9:6

  58. I’ve been really struggling lately with a specific situation, and then the other night I randomly started reading in John. This is the verse that really struck me:
“For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”
    John 1:17
It is such a blessing to me – I am not bound to the law. I want to accept God’s grace and live in His truth!
    {Also, could you ladies pray for me? I found out yesterday about a situation with a dear friend, and it’s bad. They think she’ll be okay, but it’s affecting me more than I thought. Thanks.}

  59. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” ~ Colossians 3:23&24
After struggling with infertility for five years, this verse was instrumental in showing me that whatever I do (whether as a mom or childless), I am serving Jesus and HE makes whatever I do worthwhile.

  60. Wow! There are so many but this one speaks to what is going on in my families life…Learning to be work hard and to be an example to others…1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 “Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.”

  61. My favorite verse in the Bible is 1 Samuel 12:24
“But be sure to fear the LORD and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you”

  62. Romans 8:28-
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
This is so encouraging to me that no matter what comes my way, or what I must go through for a season, I will endure and look to my God- who is the one in charge. Desiring to bring Him glory in all things, and in all seasons.

  63. A verse that has meant so much to me is Psalm 37:4. My husband and I have the reference in our wedding bands as a reminder that God needs to be the delight of our lives. In His perfect plan and timing He works HIS desires for our life. When I truly delight in Him, my desires are His.

  64. “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all” (2 Corinthians 4:16-17, NIV).
I love these two verses. They help me to keep my suffering in perspective, and they encourage me to persevere. The glory, joy, and reward that awaits in Heaven is so amazing and out of proportion to the suffering I endure today. With God’s strength I can keep on keeping on.

  65. Psalm 72:20-21 “Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.”
The word “AGAIN” has always been a constant reminder of God’s faithfulness…even when I fail. He is the God of restoration…however many times and however long it takes. 🙂

  66. My favorite scripture is Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
I have peace in knowing that even though I may not have it all figured out or don’t know what my future holds, God already has great plans for mine & my family’s life. And in that I have found comfort.

  67. In my current season of health problems, 2 Cor. 12:7-10 is encouraging me. “…there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'”

  68. Lamentations 3:21-23
Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
I like to refer to this as my motto for life, got it plastered everywhere!

  69. Psalm 46:10 has been a favorite for a very long time: “Be still and know I am God.” I remember hearing someone say that this verse is extra-awesome because you can break it down & it still says so much:
    Be
    Be still
    Be still and know
Be still and know I am
Be still and know I am God
    Yay God!

  70. “…the Lord answered her, ‘Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary…’ ” Luke 10:41-42
That “one thing” is a theme for me these days. I haven’t arrived yet, but I’m learning…

  71. One of my favorite verses is Zephaniah 3:17. The LORD your God is with you,he is mighty to save.He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.
    Also Romans 12:12
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer

  72. Psalm 139:2
Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
    Just one of many favorites

  73. For He has made everything beautiful in its time, He has set eternity into the minds of men yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11

  74. “He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.” 2 Corinthians 1:4
This is one of my favorites!!

  75. “Surely I am with you always, until the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:20b)
My life verse. Such comfort and confidence 🙂

  76. Luke 5:31-32 Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.
I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

  77. In my darkest hours, His Truth has sustained me. Isaiah 43:2
    When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
    and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.

  78. Proverbs 6:16-19 (NIV) “There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.”
I think of this daily. It helps me to stay on the straight and narrow path. I just wish worldly folks would follow this also because who wants God to hate them?

  79. Love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous; love is never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offense, and it is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people’s sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes. Love does not come to an end.
    — 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8
I was given this framed as a wedding gift. I once thought this was the key to a happy marriage (and it is), but more recently I’ve been reading this and replacing “love” with “God”. GOD is always patient and kind;…It reminds me that God is love. It reminds me He will always love me because “Love does not come to an end.”

  80. “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and might things, which you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3
Sometimes I forget that God has much to show me – beyond all that I can imagine.

  81. Luke 1:45 “And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what had been spoken to her by the Lord.”
I love this example of choosing to believe God and watch Him move. God loves to be believed!

  82. Isaiah 43:19 (New International Version)
19 See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert
    and streams in the wasteland.
This scripture is literally getting me through a really crappy time right now, but I believe He has already begun something new! I wait…

  83. A good reminder when things aren’t going so well:
The moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves…and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good

  84. Oh, so many but I blogged this one yesterday which for me really puts everything into perspective…
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Rev 21:4
    And that jewelery is beautiful!

  85. There are many favs…how can there not be? But one that I ALWAYS find promise in is Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.I will strengthen you and help you;I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

  86. Colossians 3:16
Let the Word of God richly dwell within you with all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

  87. “But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
    Jeremiah 17:7-8

  88. 1 Peter 4:10 is what we based our 4:10 Ministries on … “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” What’s your gift? Discover it, develop it and make a difference with it.

  89. What has garnered me much peace this past year has been Philippians 4:8-9
8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
We are in spiritual warfare and the biggest battlefield is our thought life. Get that in order and your actions are soon to follow. Which makes me smile to think about, because I have often done what I knew to be right and my heart and mind followed after. 🙂

  90. My favorite scripture is from Mat.6:26
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barn, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

  91. “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” – Romans 12:12
This verse has spoken to me so many times, in so many ways!

  92. Isaiah 61:1-3
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has annointed me to bring good news to the afflicted.
He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners; to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, tho grant those who mourn in Zion, giving them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning. The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting, so they will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord that He may be glorified.
We are all ambassadors for Christ…here to comfort, encourage, build up,set free, serve, love ….proclaim Christ to all people !
    all for joy!
    Amy M in SC

  93. 2 Cor. 5:17 “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come”.

  94. I read Psalms 91 this morning, and the first few verses really spoke to me, it focused on the names of God: “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High (El Elyon)will abide in the shadow of the Almighty (El Shaddai)I will say to the Lord (YHWH) My refuge and my fortress, My God,(Elohim) in whom I trust!” The rest of the chapter is excellent too! 🙂

  95. Psalm 91 is one of my favorites, I love abiding in the secret place with the Lord. It makes me feel like a little girl playing with her daddy their secret place. I love my daddy God!

  96. My favorite verse in the bible is Isaiah 40:31. Years and years ago I bought one of those little cards with my name on it. Well, this is the scripture that was underneath my name. At the time I thought nothing of it, but I see now how God has made it my favorite verse. It is amazing that when I see this verse written on something, I just get this huge smile on my face. I feel like God is speaking. It has comforted me so many times. He is amazing. Thanks for letting me share.

  97. i have always loved Philippians 4:6-7 and have claimed them as my life verses.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV
But lately I have claimed PSalm 143 recently because it speaks to what I need right now on so many levels. My favorite part of it is
“Revive me, O LORD, for Your name’s sake!
For Your righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble.”

  98. My favorite passage is 2 Peter 1:3-11. It starts out…
“…seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.”
What a comfort to know that Jesus’ power has given us everything we need for life and godliness…everything!

  99. “But he knows the way that I take: When he has tested me I will come forth as gold.” Job 23:10
This scripture spoke to me when I felt like I could relate to Job and his trials. I have this on the bottom of my website.

  100. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.
This verse has helped me though many dark places and continues to do so!
    God is so good!

  101. Romans 5:3-5
Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

  102. II Cor. 1:21 & 22: “Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.”
It’s so good to know that as a believer in Christ, my salvation has been sealed by God with the Holy Spirit! He is the earnest money, the down payment, the security of my salvation. There are many more verses similar to this. I also like the one where Jesus said that he holds the believer in His hand, and no one can pluck us out — that includes ourselves!

  103. Two favorites are:
    1 Thessalonians 5:11, MSG:
“So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it.”
    Jeremiah 29:11-12, MSG:
“I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out

  104. A scripture that speaks to me right now is Isaiah 40:31 “Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.”

  105. Today it is…
    Psalm 13:1-3
“HOW LONG will You forget me, O Lord? Forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? How long must I lay up cares within me and have sorrow in my heart day after day? How long shall my enemy exalt himself over me? Consider and answer me, O Lord my God; lighten the eyes [of my faith to behold Your face …in the pitchlike darkness]”

  106. “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8
My daughter was married recently & chose this verse for her wedding program ~ a beautiful reminder of what is possible through the love & forgiveness of our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ.

  107. The past two years have brought 2 job losses, a move, 9 months of paying for two homes, serious health concerns and more.
This verse was the one I kept going to the most through it all:
“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord. “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

  108. Goodness! It’s hard to find just one. I think one of the things that spoke to me most was when Hannah was praying to God for a child, in 1 Samuel 1. When we were going through infertility, this spoke so sweetly and strongly, for God truly knows a woman’s heart and her desire to become a mother.

  109. It would have to be Matthew 5:22. My family is walking through some issues but God definitely is in the picture. He quietly told me to expound on the scripture and say ” In the Waiting, Have Faith In God ” .
So as I wait on the Father, I trust His judgment more than I do my own.

  110. Ecclesiates 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do,do it with your might.
I taught this to my 4 children as soon, desiring to teach commitment, integrity, strong work ethic. They are all adults now, with Godly traits….Gods word is true. I remind myself daily to everything I do to the best of my ability, simply because thats the way my Father wants it to be. BE OUR BEST.

  111. Jeremiah 29:11
I’m at a point on my life where I need and want to know what’s coming. I take comfort in reminding myself that —
“I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD.”

  112. But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord…
I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.
    Philippians 3 7-8, 10-11

  113. It’s hard to choose. The verse that speaks to me most depends on the day (or the hour) and where I am (like, in life).
At this moment I can’t choose between these two:
“But by the grace of God I am what I am…”
    1 Corinthians 15:10
“Be still and know that I am God;..”
    Psalm 46:10

  114. Sorry the scripture is Mark 11:22. Had a crisis and it through me off. My daughter’s dog died and they have to tell the daughter. God is always willing to hold us His arms and comfort us. He is the one we run to when all else fails.

  115. No eye has seen no ear has heard and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him. 1 Cor 2:9

  116. Right now I’m being challenged to live in grace and to then extend that same grace to others. So my challange verse is….
My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

  117. Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
As we go through a “faith walk” this is the verse we are clinging to.

  118. Choose Life! Our only choice in every moment is one towards curses or life. Anger vs. joy, soda vs. water, exercise vs. couch potato. Deuteronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

  119. “Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps His convenant for a thousand generations and lavishes His unfailing love on those who love Him and obey His commands.”
    {Deuteronomy 7:9}
As a pre-Mama whose womb has been closed for 65 months, who prays every day for life to grow inside, who Knows that life comes only from the Life-Giver… winning this jewelry set will just have the most profound meaning to me. If I win, I will wear it as one who knows true Hope…

  120. “I know the plans I have for you… plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.! Jer 29:11
This verse has been my steadying rock over these last almost 2 years as I’ve been in treatment for breast cancer. What a comfort!!

  121. My favorite verse is and always will be from Ezekiel regarding a new heart when I was born again 5 years ago so this passage has great meaning for me…a total life change.
    A New Heart
    Ezekiel 36:25-27
“Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. Your filth will be washed away, and you will no longer worship idols. And I will give you a new heart with new and right desires, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony heart of sin and give you a new, obedient heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so you will obey my laws and do whatever I command. (NLT)

  122. Jeremiah 29:11
`For I know the plans I have for you`, declares the LORD, `plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

  123. “For everythig there is a season, and time for every matter under heaven.”
    – Ecclesiastes 3:1
It’s great to have a reminder that all is well in the world.

  124. “God can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways so that you’re ready for anything and everything…” 2 Corinthians9:8 The Messagee

  125. The verse that gets me through is “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” -Philippians 4:13
It’s a solid reminder that I’m not in control and I must lean on HIM!

  126. Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understandings and in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.

  127. This week Proverbs 11:25 is speaking volumes to me – “A generous man will prosper; He who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.”
Jesus is teaching me that I don’t have to “have it all together” to be generous with what I can offer – time, a smile, small talk in a line, a kind word – I can refresh others in the tiniest of ways and it can almost seem insignificant. Then, without warning, I feel so refreshed and have more to give. Very cool!
    So blessed.

  128. Isaiah 61:11
For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all nations.

  129. 2 Corinthians 1:2-5 (New King James Version)
“Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.”

  130. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. ~ Jeremiah 29:11
I have to constantly remind myself that I am not in control. I am a planner at heart and this scripture reminds me that He already knows the plan for me and it is my job to figure it out. : )

  131. One scripture that has spoken much to me recently, and brought a lot of encouragement, is Ephesians 3:17-20…
(I pray that you may be able)”to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge

  132. Psalm 46:10 Be Still and know that I am God.
It has taken a couple of tragedies in my life to ‘trust’ this…. but now that I do, I find such comfort.

  133. Psalm 139 – all of it shows me how no matter what God already knows me and loves me, even when I try to hide from him and myself.

  134. # Hebrews 12:2
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
A good way to keep our hearts and minds at peace through these troubled times.

  135. Galatians 2:20 always reminds me that it is Christ who lives in me (I know longer live). This is a great encouragement because I know that I can do anything in Christ!

  136. I have many favorites. But each one holds a special place according to the situation I go thru, or the battles I struggle with. And the verse becomes alive and gives me strength and sees me thru. For example, just recently, Ive had my first new job being new here. It was overwhelming, but Psalm 23, and especially the verse, “Though I walk thru the valley of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me.” The verse truly gave me strength and as I walked to my job, I felt his presence and his help as I claimed the promise. His words are life and they are spirit.
    Catherine

  137. Matthew 28:20. I am with you always…
Such a comfort, to know Jesus has never and will never leave us!

  138. I love Isaiah 40:31 – “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
My heart is always renewed when I read this. Thanks for asking 🙂

  139. I lift up my eyes to the hills-
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
    Psalm 121:1,2
and actually all of the rest of this Psalm

  140. Romans 8:28 For ALL things work together for GOOD. (not necessarily instantly or even within a year) (even those things that seem completely and utterly impossibly hopelessly horrible)

  141. One of my (many)favorites:
    Deuteronomy 31:8 (New International Version)
8 The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

  142. Jeremiah 29:11-14
It’s been a life verse to me
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. [fn] I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

  143. Jer 29:11-13 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future…”

  144. The whole book of Jeremiah speaks to me. Here was an ordinary guy who said whatever God told him to say. He hesitated at first, but trusted God enough that he went out there and spoke. He was labeled a crazy person, he had a price on his head, but he kept talking. When people did listen, amazing things happened.
I’d love to have that kind of bravery. I usually don’t. And I hate it when I know I need to speak up and I don’t. When I read Jeremiah, I’m encouraged and feel the need to start acting more like him and less like the shy creature that has taken up residence in myself.

  145. 1 Corinthians 13:4 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy. It does not boast. It is not proud.” This has gotten my husband and me through many trials.

  146. Proverbs 15:4 is hanging on my bathroom wall. It’s a reminder to hold my tongue when it comes to the ones I love.
“Gentle words are a tree of life; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.”

  147. Romans 8 : 38 & 39
For nothing can separate you and I from God’s love! Nothing…death nor life, no circumstance, no illness, no waivering in faith…nothing stands in the way of God’s love for each of us. His love is unconditional! Beautiful!

  148. My 4th child & 3rd son Charlie was unexpectedly born with Down Syndrome last Sept. Psalm 139:13-16 have been a great encouragement to me. Charlie is fearfully and wonderfully made and he is a wonderful work of God. God has given me a tremendous sense of responsibility but also privilege in raising Charlie & his siblings. What great hope we can have in God’s sovereignity and goodness to each of us.

  149. Yesterday, Psalm 116 spoke to me. The middle says, “Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.” Ah…rest.

  150. Isaiah 30:21
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
This verse has served me well over the years to guide my choices.
    Lisa xx

  151. Proverbs 3:4-6
4 Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight

  152. Isaiah 41:10 – Do not fear for I am with you, do not be afraid for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
(I also happen to LOVE this bible verse song from the Seeds of Courage CD from Seeds Family Worship!)

  153. Isaiah 41:10 God’s promises in this verse are so comforting! I especially love how simply He declares “I AM your God”… you don’t have to worry, I’ve got it covered, I AM what you need.

  154. My current favorite, as I’m battling a scary new health problem, is found in Deuteronomy 31:8: “The LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

  155. “Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him” ~ James 1:12
With ‘moderately severe’ Fibromyalgia, reminders of Truth like this one, are indeed life-lines. There is a sober reason why chronic pain sufferer’s have a high suicide rate. However, I subscribe to Sono Harris’ take on these trials:

  156. John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” The Word in my soul is rich and will endure forever.
