It’s hard to believe, but true – slavery still exists in every culture.
Imagine you’re a six year old girl, living in the slums of Cambodia. Your parents can’t afford to feed themselves, much less you. A couple of men come by one day and offer your parents some money. . . for you. From that point on your life consists of drugs, sexual exploitation, and hopelessness.
It can be overwhelming to think that such horror goes on in our modern world. But you also might be wondering, “Why is this my problem?” not because you’re un-compassionate, but because it’s happening on the other side of the globe.
The founder of The Rapha House asked the same questions. (Please excuse the background noise. I was at their headquarters in Joplin, MO.) She is a Gutzy Girl.
You can help The Rapha House extend unconditional love, physical rescue and transformational healing to young girls that are rescued from slavery and exploitative situations.

Makes me hug my daughter a little tighter and send tearful prayers toward Heaven. Praising God for ministries such as these!
You know, when she was talking about the pastors buying back the little girl (thus putting money in the hands of the trafficers), all I could think about was the Father buying me back by putting Jesus in the hands of satan and sinners (me included) at the cross. Praying that the same Victory that broke free of the grave will break through and bring freedom to each child and woman caught in this sickening snare.
My heart’s so heavy it hurts every time I read of these stories. It feels so far removed from our reality, and yet much too close for comfort all at the same time. Praying!!!
Unimaginable horrors.
And to think I enslave myself just to the treasures of this world and there are peple who are still, well, slaved. Wow.

Thanks for keeping this issue before us! When we feel unaffected, it’s easy to do nothing. But we are all affected when something so horrible is happening in the world God told us to care for.
